Investors Await RBI MPC Decision

Market participants are closely watching the RBI’s monetary policy announcement, expected at 10:00 AM, for signals on interest rates and the central bank’s outlook on inflation and economic growth.

According to market experts, investor sentiment also improved after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that a deal with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be reached soon.

The optimism pushed crude oil prices lower, a positive development for India, which imports more than 80% of its crude oil requirements.

Asian Markets Trade Higher

Most major Asian markets were trading in positive territory:

  • Tokyo — Higher
  • Shanghai — Higher
  • Seoul — Higher
  • Jakarta — Higher
  • Hong Kong — Flat

U.S. markets also ended Tuesday’s session with strong gains:

  • Dow Jones: +1.71%
  • Nasdaq: +2.59%

Crude Oil Prices Decline

International oil prices continued to ease:

  • Brent Crude: Down 1.35% at $78.29 per barrel
  • WTI Crude: Down 1.68% at $74.50 per barrel

Lower crude prices are generally considered supportive for India’s inflation outlook and trade balance.

FIIs Continue Buying Indian Equities

Foreign investors remained net buyers in the Indian market.

On Tuesday:

  • Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs): Bought equities worth ₹2,446.47 crore
  • Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs): Sold equities worth ₹936.14 crore

The continued FII inflows have provided additional support to market sentiment.
