A possible Putin Trump Xi Meeting has moved closer to the center of global diplomatic attention after Russia said Sunday that it has not ruled out bringing President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping together for three-way talks.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow remains open to such a meeting but stressed that officials must first determine its substance, agenda and expected outcome before starting actual preparations.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China, has emerged as the possible venue.
China will host the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on November 18 and 19, giving world leaders a natural diplomatic platform for bilateral and potentially trilateral talks.
However, no Putin-Trump-Xi summit has been formally announced.
Neither Washington nor Beijing has confirmed a three-way meeting.
Russia Says Trilateral Meeting Is Not Ruled Out

China will host the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen on November 18 and 19.

China has made openness, innovation and cooperation the three priorities of its 2026 APEC presidency.
The Shenzhen summit is expected to attract senior leaders from across the region.
That setting could provide an opportunity for several bilateral meetings on the sidelines.
Whether it will also produce a Putin-Trump-Xi meeting remains unresolved.
Trump Attendance Still Important to Watch
One major variable is President Donald Trump’s participation.
When the Kremlin first discussed the trilateral possibility, the White House had not formally announced Trump’s attendance at the November APEC summit.
That makes any three-way meeting conditional.
