Ahead of the Monsoon Session 2026, the Union government has convened an all-party meeting on Sunday to seek cooperation from political parties for the smooth functioning of Parliament.
The Monsoon Session is scheduled to begin on July 20, 2026, and continue until August 13, 2026. During the four-week session, Parliament is expected to hold 19 sittings and deliberate on several important legislative proposals and issues of national importance.
Government to Seek Cooperation from Political Parties
The all-party meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the Main Committee Room of the Parliament House Annexe.
Senior ministers are expected to request support from leaders of various political parties to ensure productive proceedings in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, while discussing the legislative agenda and issues likely to be raised during the session.

Announcing the schedule, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that President Droupadi Murmu had approved the government’s recommendation to convene both Houses of Parliament.

130th Constitutional Amendment Bill
Another expected proposal is the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill, which seeks to provide for the automatic removal of a Chief Minister, Union Minister, or Prime Minister if they remain in police or judicial custody for 30 consecutive days in connection with serious criminal cases.
One Nation, One Election
The government is also expected to advance legislation related to the proposed One Nation, One Election framework, aimed at synchronizing elections across the country.
