BHILDI, BANASKANTHA, GUJARAT, INDIA | October 30, 2026: Millions of farmers across India have received a major financial update as Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Friday. The funds are being transferred directly into the bank accounts of more than 9.34 crore eligible farmer families through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Under this instalment, each eligible beneficiary is entitled to ₹2,000. The government is transferring more than ₹18,690 crore in total. The release took place at Bhildi in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district.
For farmers, the immediate question is whether the money has reached their bank accounts. Those who have not received the payment should check their beneficiary status, e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank linking and land records before assuming that their application has been rejected.

How Much Money Does a Farmer Receive Under PM-KISAN?
The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible landholding farmer families with financial assistance of ₹6,000 every year.
The amount is transferred in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, generally at intervals of four months. The money goes directly into the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT.
The 24th instalment is therefore worth ₹2,000 for each eligible farmer family. The government has announced a total transfer of more than ₹18,690 crore for over 9.34 crore beneficiaries.
When Will the 25th PM Kisan Instalment Be Released?
After the release of the 24th instalment, farmers are naturally looking ahead to the next payment.
PM-KISAN generally follows a four-month instalment cycle. Based on this pattern, the 25th instalment could be expected around January 2027.
However, this is only an estimate based on the usual payment schedule. The government has not announced an official release date for the 25th instalment. Farmers should rely on the Agriculture Ministry and the official PM-KISAN portal for confirmation.
Who Is Eligible for PM-KISAN Benefits?
The scheme is intended to provide income support to eligible landholding farmer families. However, land ownership alone does not automatically guarantee payment.
The eligibility rules include specific conditions and exclusions. Institutional landholders are not eligible. Certain families are also excluded if a member holds or has held specified constitutional or public offices, works or has retired from certain government positions, receives a qualifying pension, pays income tax or practises certain registered professions.
The scheme also uses February 1, 2019, as an important land-ownership cut-off date, subject to provisions such as succession following the death of a landholder.
Farmers should check their eligibility through the official portal rather than relying only on their registration status.
Why Has the PM Kisan Payment Not Reached Some Bank Accounts?
Even registered farmers may face payment delays if their records are incomplete or require verification. These are some of the common issues to check.
1. e-KYC Is Incomplete
Completion of e-KYC is mandatory for registered PM-KISAN beneficiaries. If the process is pending, the instalment may be withheld.
Farmers can complete e-KYC through the official PM-KISAN website using Aadhaar-based OTP authentication, where available. They can also visit an authorised Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric verification.
The PM-KISAN mobile application also provides a face-authentication option.
2. Aadhaar Is Not Linked to the Bank Account
The bank account used for receiving the instalment must meet the scheme’s Aadhaar-based payment requirements.
If Aadhaar seeding is incomplete, farmers should contact their bank and ask whether their account is properly linked and mapped for DBT payments.
3. DBT or Bank Details Need Correction
Incorrect account details, an invalid IFSC code or a problem with Aadhaar-based payment mapping can prevent the transfer from being credited.
Farmers should verify their account number, IFSC code and bank details in their PM-KISAN records. They should also ask the bank to confirm that the account is active and eligible to receive DBT payments.
4. Land Records Have Not Been Verified
Land seeding and verification of land records are important parts of the beneficiary verification process.
If the portal shows a pending land-seeding or land-record verification status, farmers should approach their local agriculture department or the designated revenue authority.
They may be asked to provide documents such as the relevant land record, including Khasra or Khatauni, along with Aadhaar and other required details. The concerned authority can examine the records and update the status through the prescribed process.
5. Eligibility Verification Is Pending
The government has identified certain cases that require physical verification, including suspected ineligible land ownership and multiple family members receiving benefits.
The official portal has advised affected farmers to check their status through the Know Your Status facility or the Kisan e-Mitra chatbot.
How to Complete PM Kisan e-KYC
Farmers have two commonly used ways to complete the mandatory verification process.
Online e-KYC through Aadhaar OTP:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN website.
- Open the e-KYC option.
- Enter the Aadhaar number requested by the portal.
- Complete authentication using the OTP sent to the Aadhaar-registered mobile number.
- Follow the instructions and confirm that the process has been completed successfully.
Offline biometric e-KYC:
- Visit an authorised Common Service Centre.
- Carry your Aadhaar details and registered mobile number.
- Request PM-KISAN biometric e-KYC.
- Complete fingerprint authentication.
- Ask for confirmation that the verification has been recorded.
If OTP authentication does not work, the CSC route may be a useful alternative.
How to Check Whether the ₹2,000 Instalment Has Reached Your Account
Farmers can check their payment through the bank or the official PM-KISAN portal.
Method 1: Check your bank SMS
Look for a credit message on the mobile number registered with your bank. The message should indicate whether the instalment has been credited.
Method 2: Check your bank account statement
If no SMS has arrived, use your bank’s mobile app, ATM, passbook or mini statement to verify the latest transactions.
Method 3: Use the PM-KISAN Know Your Status facility
- Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in.
- Select Know Your Status.
- Enter the requested registration details.
- Complete OTP verification, if prompted.
- Review the payment and beneficiary information displayed on the portal.
The status page can help identify whether a payment has been processed or whether verification is still pending.
What Should Farmers Do If the Instalment Is Stuck?
Farmers whose payment is pending should first identify the reason shown on the portal. The next step depends on the issue.
- For incomplete e-KYC, complete Aadhaar OTP or biometric authentication.
- For Aadhaar-bank linking problems, contact the bank.
- For pending land verification, approach the local agriculture or revenue office.
- For incorrect bank details, request correction through the prescribed process.
- For eligibility-related verification, check the instructions displayed in the PM-KISAN portal.
Farmers can also contact the PM-KISAN helpdesk using the published numbers:
- 155261
- 1800-115-526
Keep your PM-KISAN registration number, Aadhaar details and bank information available when seeking assistance. Do not share OTPs, PINs or banking passwords with anyone claiming to release the instalment.
The Bottom Line
The release of the 24th PM-KISAN instalment brings ₹2,000 financial assistance to more than 9.34 crore eligible farmer families, with the government transferring over ₹18,690 crore.
Farmers who have not received the money should not assume that their benefit has been cancelled. Checking e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding, DBT status, bank details and land-record verification can help identify the reason for a delay.
The next instalment may be expected around January 2027 under the usual four-month cycle, but its date remains unannounced. For the latest payment and eligibility information, the official PM-KISAN portal remains the most reliable source.
