Maharishi Arvind Startup Incubation Centre has been inaugurated at the Maharishi Arvind Institute of Science and Management in Ambabari, Jaipur, with the initiative aimed at helping students transform innovative ideas into practical and scalable startup ventures.
IT experts Professor Pawan Jha and Professor A.K. Sharma attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guests and addressed students on the rapidly expanding startup ecosystem, entrepreneurship, emerging technologies and opportunities for young innovators.
The new Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre is expected to provide students with mentoring, guidance and institutional support as they work on technology-driven ideas and entrepreneurial projects.
Students Encouraged to Turn Ideas Into Startups
Addressing the gathering, the chief guests encouraged students to think beyond conventional career paths and explore opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship.
They said technology is increasingly enabling young people not only to find employment but also to create new businesses and generate jobs for others.
Students were encouraged to identify real-world problems, develop practical solutions and explore how those solutions could be transformed into sustainable business models.
The speakers also highlighted the importance of creativity, technical skills and responsible use of emerging technologies.
Professor Pawan Jha Highlights Role of AI in Startup Growth
Professor Pawan Jha said startups have become much more than a source of employment and are increasingly providing young people with a platform to contribute to innovation, self-reliance and nation-building.
He emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in entrepreneurship.
According to Professor Jha, students can use AI creatively and responsibly to refine their ideas, improve efficiency and develop products or services capable of scaling beyond local markets.
He encouraged students to view technology as a tool for solving problems rather than simply as a trend.
The ability to combine technical knowledge with innovative thinking, he said, can help young entrepreneurs create startups with national and global potential.
Startup India and Digital India Creating New Opportunities
Professor A.K. Sharma highlighted government initiatives including Startup India, Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, saying such programs are helping create a more supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
He encouraged students to understand and make use of government programs, incubation facilities, mentorship opportunities and other resources available to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Professor Sharma also urged students to focus on solving local challenges through technology.
He said ideas that address practical problems at the community level can eventually be expanded into businesses capable of reaching national and international markets.
Innovation Can Create Jobs, Not Just Help Find Them
The speakers emphasized that technological skills and innovation have become important tools for both employment and job creation.
Instead of limiting themselves to preparing only for traditional jobs, students were encouraged to develop the confidence and skills required to become entrepreneurs.
They said identifying new solutions to existing problems and converting ideas into commercially viable products would become increasingly important in the changing economy.
The incubation centre is intended to support this transition by providing students with an environment where they can explore, test and develop their ideas.
Director Dr. Bharat Parashar Says Centre Will Provide Mentorship
Maharishi Arvind Institute Director Dr. Bharat Parashar said the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre would provide a platform for students with new and creative ideas.
He said the centre would play an important role in providing the guidance and support students need to move forward in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative is expected to encourage students to experiment with ideas, work on prototypes and gain exposure to entrepreneurial thinking while continuing their academic studies.
Institutional mentoring can be particularly important for first-time entrepreneurs who may have strong ideas but limited understanding of business planning, funding, market validation or scaling.
Centre Expected to Promote Creative and Entrepreneurial Thinking
Public Relations Officer Dr. Mayank Sharma described the establishment of the centre as an important opportunity for students.
He said the initiative would help promote creative thinking, technical capability and an entrepreneurial mindset among young people.
The centre is expected to encourage students to look at academic knowledge from a practical perspective and explore how classroom learning can be applied to real-world problems.
Such incubation initiatives can also help bridge the gap between education and industry by exposing students to business development, technology applications and market-oriented thinking.
Jaipur’s Growing Startup Ecosystem
The launch comes at a time when Jaipur and Rajasthan are seeing growing interest in startups, digital businesses and technology-led entrepreneurship.
Educational institutions are increasingly establishing incubation and innovation facilities to encourage students to experiment with entrepreneurship before entering the workforce.
For students, access to mentors, infrastructure and an environment that supports experimentation can make it easier to develop early-stage concepts into structured projects.
The Maharishi Arvind Institute’s new centre is expected to become part of this broader effort to promote innovation-driven learning.
Focus on Self-Reliance and Nation-Building
The speakers repeatedly linked entrepreneurship with India’s broader goals of self-reliance and economic development.
They said startups can contribute by creating jobs, introducing new technologies, improving productivity and developing solutions tailored to local needs.
Young innovators were encouraged to think ambitiously while remaining focused on practical impact.
The message from the inaugural ceremony was clear: the next generation of professionals should not only prepare to participate in the economy but also consider building businesses and technologies capable of shaping it.
With the launch of the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, Maharishi Arvind Institute aims to give students a dedicated platform to take that first step.
