LPG Cylinder Price Cut: Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by Over ₹200, Big Relief for Restaurants and Businesses

0
Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced by more than ₹200, offering relief to restaurants and businesses, while domestic LPG prices remain unchanged.

New Delhi | August 1, 2026

LPG Cylinder Price Cut has brought significant relief for restaurants, hotels, cafes, and other commercial establishments across India after oil marketing companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by more than ₹200, effective August 1. However, the price of 14.2-kg domestic cooking gas cylinders remains unchanged, providing no immediate relief for household consumers.

According to information reported by ANI, commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced by ₹202 in Delhi and ₹209 in Kolkata, making it one of the biggest monthly reductions in recent months.

The latest revision is expected to lower operating costs for businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG, including restaurants, tea stalls, catering services, and small food outlets.

New Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices

Following the latest price revision:

  • Delhi: ₹2,728 (down from ₹2,930)
  • Kolkata: ₹2,872.50 (after a ₹209 reduction)

Industry experts believe the reduction could help food service businesses manage operational expenses more effectively, although it remains uncertain whether customers will immediately see lower menu prices.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged

Despite the substantial reduction in commercial LPG rates, oil marketing companies have not revised domestic LPG prices this month.

Current prices of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remain:

  • Delhi: ₹942
  • Kolkata: ₹968
  • Mumbai: ₹941.50
  • Chennai: ₹957.50

Households will continue purchasing cooking gas at existing rates until the next scheduled price review.

Previous LPG Price Revision

This is the second consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG prices.

On July 1, 2026, oil marketing companies had also reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹183.50, bringing the Delhi price down to ₹2,930.

At that time:

  • Kolkata’s commercial LPG price declined from ₹3,255.50 to ₹3,081.50
  • Patna’s commercial LPG cylinder price dropped to ₹3,227

The latest reduction further strengthens the downward pricing trend for commercial LPG in 2026.

Who Benefits Most?

The latest LPG Cylinder Price Cut primarily benefits businesses that depend on commercial cooking gas, including:

  • Restaurants
  • Hotels
  • Cafes
  • Catering companies
  • Tea stalls
  • Street food vendors
  • Small eateries

Lower fuel costs may improve business margins, although the impact on consumer prices will depend on individual businesses.

Industry Outlook

Oil marketing companies review LPG prices at the beginning of every month based on international energy prices, currency movements, transportation costs, and other market factors. While commercial users have received significant relief this month, domestic consumers will have to wait for future revisions to see whether household LPG prices are adjusted.
