Coastal Andhra Pradesh is another key weather hotspot.
IMD has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds on September 21. The forecast becomes more serious from September 22, with very heavy rain possible before the risk of extremely heavy rainfall increases on September 23 and 24.
That makes the Andhra-Odisha coastal belt particularly important to watch during the middle of the week.
Odisha Weather Could Turn More Severe
Odisha has a different pattern today.
IMD’s September 21 warning focuses primarily on thunderstorms and lightning. However, rainfall intensity is forecast to increase sharply from Tuesday.
The current warning outlook indicates very heavy rain on September 22 and extremely heavy rainfall on September 23 and 24, followed by continued heavy to very heavy rainfall later in the week.

Maharashtra: Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra Remain on Watch

The latest IMD subdivision warning lists thunderstorm and lightning activity for September 21, followed by comparatively quieter conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Delhi Weather Today: Hazy and Warm
Delhi begins Monday under much calmer weather compared with southern India.
The capital was seeing hazy sunshine and around 28°C during the morning, with temperatures forecast to rise to roughly 35°C during the day.
More importantly, IMD’s current subdivision warning lists no weather warning for Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh on September 21.
Therefore, rain is not the main weather concern for the national capital today. Warm and hazy conditions are likely to dominate instead.
Bay of Bengal System Becomes the Big Weather Trigger
A developing system over the east-central Bay of Bengal is playing an important role in the changing weather pattern.
