NEW DELHI, INDIA | August 27, 2026 —
Kangana Ranaut BJP remarks have triggered fresh political and entertainment buzz after the actor-turned-MP declared that she is not a “puppet” of the Bharatiya Janata Party and acknowledged that the party supporting her today may not necessarily stand with her forever.
In a recent interview with Doordarshan, the BJP MP from Mandi spoke unusually candidly about her relationship with the party, her independent public image and the possibility that her political journey may not always follow a predictable path.
“I am not a puppet,” Kangana said while explaining that her personal views do not automatically become the BJP’s official position.
She added: “BJP is with me today; they might not be there tomorrow.”
The comments are significant because Kangana has repeatedly generated political controversy through statements that have not always aligned neatly with the party’s messaging.
Kangana Says Her Identity Is Bigger Than Politics

Kangana entered the Lok Sabha after winning the Mandi constituency for the BJP in the 2024 general election.

Kangana was also asked whether she worries about not receiving another BJP ticket from Mandi.
