AICHI-NAGOYA, Japan | September 21, 2026 — India added another silver medal to its Asian Games 2026 tally on Monday as Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane finished second in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
The result gave India its third medal of the Games — and all three have come from shooting.
At the same time, India’s women’s table tennis team delivered another early-morning boost by defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the team competition.
With hockey, kabaddi, badminton, boxing, MMA and more shooting action still to come, September 21 could become one of India’s busiest days of the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
India Wins Third Silver Medal
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane combined for 1890.1 points in the men’s 10m air rifle team competition.
China produced a world-record score of 1899.0 to take gold, while South Korea secured bronze with 1884.2 points.
The silver continued India’s strong start in shooting.
On Sunday, Elavenil Valarivan had already won two silver medals — one in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event and another alongside Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod in the team competition.
India therefore moved to three medals, all silver, early on Monday.
Rudrankksh and Himanshu Reach Individual Final
India’s medal chances did not end with the team event.
Rudrankksh Patil qualified third in the men’s 10m air rifle qualification with 631.8 points, while Himanshu Dhillon qualified seventh with 630.0.
Both advanced to the individual final.
Parth Mane scored 628.3 and finished 10th, missing the eight-shooter medal round.
At the time this report was prepared, the individual final result had not yet been independently verified.
That event could give India another opportunity to add to its medal tally.
India Women Beat Pakistan 3-0 in Table Tennis
India also registered an emphatic victory over Pakistan in women’s team table tennis.
The Indian side completed a 3-0 sweep, continuing a strong start to its group campaign.
The result adds another encouraging team-sport performance after India had already begun the Games positively across hockey, cricket and table tennis.
India’s men’s table tennis team is also scheduled to face Pakistan later on Monday.
That contest is set for 3:30 PM IST.
Men’s Kabaddi Team Starts Gold-Medal Defence
India’s men’s kabaddi team begins its Asian Games title defence against Japan on Monday.
The match is scheduled for 9:45 AM IST.
India enters the tournament as defending champion and remains one of the traditional powers of Asian kabaddi.
The men’s team will also face South Korea, Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei during the group stage.
India’s women’s kabaddi team starts its campaign later in the day against Bangladesh at 4:15 PM IST.
Both Indian teams won gold at the previous Asian Games and will attempt to defend those titles in Japan.
Women’s Hockey Team Faces Indonesia
India’s women’s hockey team returns to action after a spectacular opening performance.
The team had beaten Uzbekistan 19-0 in its first Pool B match.
India faces Indonesia in its second pool game on Monday at 9:30 AM IST.
The dominant opening victory provided a major confidence boost, although the competition is expected to become progressively tougher as India moves deeper into the tournament.
Suchika Tariyal Has Already Guaranteed Historic MMA Medal
Mixed martial arts has already produced a historic moment for India.
Suchika Tariyal reached the women’s Traditional MMA 60kg semi-finals after beating Mongolia’s Altanchimeg Baigalmaa 2-0.
Because both losing semi-finalists receive bronze medals, Suchika has guaranteed India its first-ever Asian Games medal in MMA.
MMA is making its medal-sport debut at the Asian Games.
Suchika’s next challenge comes against Singapore’s Teo Hui Hoon.
Her progress gives India another guaranteed medal, although it will enter the official medal tally only after the competition reaches its medal-awarding stage.
India Women’s Cricket Team Has Also Guaranteed Medal
Another medal is already assured in women’s cricket.
India stormed into the final after beating Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semi-final.
Shafali Verma scored an unbeaten 100 as India posted 195/4 before dismissing Bangladesh for 81.
India will face Sri Lanka in the gold-medal match on September 22.
As defending champions, India now has an opportunity to retain its Asian Games women’s cricket title.
Badminton Campaign Begins Against Bangladesh
India’s men’s badminton team also begins its campaign on Monday.
India faces Bangladesh in the first round at 11:30 AM IST.
The men’s team entered the tournament with expectations after winning silver at the previous Asian Games.
Badminton remains another discipline where India carries several established international players.
Boxing and Wushu Add More Action
India’s Sumit is scheduled to face Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri in the men’s 70kg boxing Round of 32.
Later in the day, Roshibina Devi will compete in the women’s 60kg wushu event, while Aryan enters the men’s 56kg competition.
Skeet shooters are also in action as India’s shooting campaign moves beyond the air-rifle events.

The early pattern of India’s Asian Games campaign is already clear.
Shooting has delivered every official Indian medal so far.
