Mahindra BE 07 and Vision T: Future SUV Directions

MUMBAI, India | October 7, 2026 — A spacious electric family SUV and a rugged vehicle inspired by Mahindra’s off-road identity could appeal to very different buyers. Mahindra BE 07 and Vision T illustrate those two directions, but their production specifications, pricing and individual launch schedules require careful separation from concept details and media expectations.

The BE.07 forms part of Mahindra’s Born Electric program built around the dedicated INGLO architecture. Vision T, meanwhile, belongs to the newer NU_IQ family—a modular platform that Mahindra says can support both combustion-engine and electric powertrains.

That distinction matters for anyone considering whether to wait for an upcoming SUV. The two concepts do not constitute a confirmed pair of electric-only production launches with finalized equipment lists.

BE 07: A More Conventional Family-SUV Shape

Mahindra originally presented the BE.07 as a relatively upright SUV within its electric concept portfolio. Its shape suggests a different approach from the more sharply sloping profiles associated with some other Born Electric models.

The company’s original concept announcement listed a 2,775 mm wheelbase. However, concept dimensions do not establish every measurement of the eventual production vehicle.

For family buyers, the important questions will concern usable rear-seat space, luggage capacity, seating configuration and ease of entry. Those details will become clearer when Mahindra presents the production model.

Similarly, a spacious-looking concept does not substitute for checking the cabin in person.

Screens, ADAS and Premium Features: Expectations Need Confirmation

The supplied brief lists possible equipment including three 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, advanced driver-assistance systems, flush door handles and dual-zone climate control.

These features describe expectations rather than a verified production specification sheet for the BE.07.

Moreover, equipment may differ between variants. Buyers should therefore check which version includes a feature instead of assuming that every model will receive the full proposed package.

The same applies to frameless doors and other design details. Manufacturers can change concept elements before production to meet practical, engineering or market requirements.

Battery Capacity and Range Remain Key Questions

Reports have suggested 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, along with possible rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor configurations.

However, the official material reviewed for this report does not establish that exact three-battery lineup for the production BE.07.

Likewise, the proposed 500 km real-world range should not appear as a confirmed result. Certified range and everyday driving range measure different things, and actual performance depends on the conditions of use.

Mahindra previously described INGLO’s fast-charging capability at the platform level. Nevertheless, a platform announcement does not confirm a particular production model’s charging curve or a guaranteed 10–80% charging time.

Buyers will need model-specific specifications and test conditions before making a reliable comparison.

Vision T: Rugged Design on a Multi-Energy Platform

Mahindra describes Vision T as an iconic, tough concept with a focus on go-anywhere capability.

Its broader NU_IQ architecture supports multiple vehicle bodies and powertrains, along with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive applications.

Crucially, Mahindra’s official concept information distinguishes NU_IQ from INGLO: INGLO serves its battery-electric lineup, while NU_IQ offers flexibility across combustion-engine and electric vehicles.

Therefore, identifying Vision T simply as the confirmed production “electric Thar” goes beyond the available official information.

Its styling may suggest a future lifestyle SUV, but production naming, powertrain choices and rollout details remain separate announcements.

What Does the 2027 Timeline Actually Mean?

Mahindra says production of vehicles based on the NU_IQ concepts will begin from 2027. That establishes the start of a broader rollout rather than a guaranteed launch date for every concept.

The company also states that the showcased vehicles are not production-ready. It plans to announce production models, booking arrangements and prices closer to launch.

Accordingly, the reported 2027–28 window should remain an expectation for the models discussed here, not a promise of showroom availability.

Prices: Avoid Building a Budget Around Estimates

The supplied brief suggests ₹25 lakh–₹30 lakh for BE 07 and ₹12.50 lakh–₹20 lakh for Vision T. These figures are estimates, not official launch prices.

Until Mahindra announces variants and powertrains, those ranges cannot support a firm purchase budget or a like-for-like comparison.

For prospective buyers, the most useful next step is to watch for production specifications, confirmed launch dates, variant-wise prices and booking terms.

BE 07 and Vision T offer a glimpse of two different SUV directions. The purchase decision will depend on what Mahindra ultimately brings to showrooms.
