AICHI-NAGOYA, Japan | September 21, 2026 — India’s Asian Games 2026 medal tally surged to six on Monday as the shooting team delivered another powerful performance and Suchika Tariyal added a historic mixed martial arts bronze.
Himanshu Dhillon claimed silver in the men’s 10m air rifle individual final, while Rudrankksh Patil secured bronze to put two Indian shooters on the same podium.
Earlier, Dhillon and Patil joined Parth Mane to win silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
The shooting results continued India’s impressive start in Aichi-Nagoya after the country opened its medal campaign with two silver medals on the previous day.
Suchika Tariyal Creates MMA History
Suchika Tariyal added another medal for India in the women’s traditional 60kg mixed martial arts competition.
Her bronze became one of the standout moments of India’s campaign as MMA features among the newer disciplines attracting attention at the Asian Games.
With the latest results, India’s medal count has climbed to six.
India’s Day Remains Packed With Action
Indian athletes still have several important events ahead, including boxing, wushu, table tennis and women’s kabaddi.
The men’s kabaddi team has also begun its title defence, while India’s women’s hockey team continued its campaign against Indonesia.
That means India’s medal position could change again before the end of the day.
