MUMBAI, India | August 31, 2026 —

Dividend stocks this week are set to keep Dalal Street busy as nearly 90 listed companies move through record dates for dividends, bonus shares, stock splits and other corporate actions between August 31 and September 5, 2026.

Major names on investors’ radar include Coal India, NTPC, ONGC, GAIL, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Mastek, Oil India, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care, Indigo Paints and General Insurance Corporation of India.

Monday itself brings important record dates for Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Mastek, while the heaviest cluster of corporate actions arrives later in the week.

For investors, however, the record date is only part of the story. Anyone buying a stock merely to capture a dividend must understand the ex-dividend date and India’s T+1 settlement system, because buying on the ex-date generally does not make the new buyer eligible for that payout.

Dividend Stocks Today, August 31

Several companies are trading around their dividend record dates on Monday.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals

Dividend: ₹2.50 per share
Record Date: August 31, 2026

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals is among the most closely watched names on Monday’s corporate-action calendar.

Mastek

Final Dividend: ₹16 per share
Record Date: August 31, 2026

Technology company Mastek’s board had recommended a final dividend of ₹16 per share for FY2025-26.

  • Ion Exchange India — ₹1.25 per share
  • Orbit Exports — ₹0.50 interim dividend
  • Triveni Engineering & Industries — ₹1.25 per share
  • Total Transport Systems — ₹1.25 per share

Investors should verify the latest exchange disclosure before taking any market position because corporate-action schedules can be revised.

September 1: P&G Hygiene Among Big Dividend Names

Tuesday’s corporate-action calendar includes several notable payouts.

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care has scheduled a ₹60 per share final dividend, making it one of the larger headline payouts this week.

Other important September 1 names include:

  • Bengal & Assam Company — ₹50
  • AK Capital Services — ₹12 interim dividend
  • Maharashtra Seamless — ₹10
  • Alivus Life Sciences — ₹5
  • CCL Products India — ₹3
  • Suprajit Engineering — ₹2
  • Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts — ₹2

The dividend amount alone should not be used to compare stocks because share prices, face values, earnings and dividend yields differ significantly.

September 2: NTPC and GAIL Record Dates

Wednesday puts two major public-sector companies in focus.

NTPC

Final Dividend: ₹3.50 per share
Record Date: September 2, 2026

NTPC has fixed September 2 as the record date for its final dividend for FY2025-26.

GAIL India

Final Dividend: ₹0.50 per share
Record Date: September 2, 2026

GAIL is another widely held PSU stock entering the corporate-action spotlight.

One of the largest payouts on September 2 comes from Uni Abex Alloy Products, which has scheduled a ₹40 dividend and a ₹60 special dividend, taking the combined payout to ₹100 per share.

Other names include Gujarat Pipavav Port, Triveni Turbine and Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri.

September 4 Is the Biggest Corporate-Action Day

Friday, September 4, is shaping up as the busiest day of the week.

Several major PSU and widely tracked stocks enter focus.

Coal India

Final Dividend: ₹5.25 per share
Record Date: September 4, 2026

Coal India is likely to be among the most searched dividend stocks this week because of its large retail and institutional shareholder base.

ONGC

Final Dividend: ₹1 per share
Record Date: September 4, 2026

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation will also be watched closely as the energy sector remains sensitive to global crude-price volatility.

Oil India

Final Dividend: ₹1 per share

Oil India joins ONGC and Coal India in making September 4 especially important for PSU investors.

Other major dividend actions around September 4 include:

  • Gulf Oil Lubricants India — ₹30
  • General Insurance Corporation of India — ₹13.25
  • AIA Engineering — ₹16
  • Indigo Paints — ₹5
  • Arvind — ₹4.50

  • Emcure Pharmaceuticals — ₹3.60

Federal-Mogul Goetze India also stands out with an ₹86.50 special dividend plus ₹7.50 interim dividend, representing a combined announced payout of ₹94 per share.

Stock Splits This Week: Two Companies to Watch

Dividends are not the only corporate actions this week.

Integrated Proteins Stock Split

Integrated Proteins has fixed September 4 for a stock split.

Each existing share with a face value of ₹10 is scheduled to be subdivided into 10 shares of ₹1 each.

TCC Concept Stock Split

TCC Concept has also fixed September 4 as its record date.

Each ₹10 face-value share will be split into five shares with a face value of ₹2 each.

A stock split increases the number of shares held by an investor but does not by itself create additional economic value, because the market price adjusts proportionately.

Bonus Shares: Jonjua Overseas Announces 7:24 Ratio

Jonjua Overseas is among the bonus-share stocks in focus.

The company has scheduled a 7:24 bonus issue, meaning eligible shareholders are entitled to seven bonus shares for every 24 shares held, subject to the applicable corporate-action conditions.

The record date is scheduled for September 4, 2026.

Record Date vs Ex-Dividend Date: What Investors Must Know

This distinction is extremely important.

The record date is the date on which a company checks its shareholder records to determine who is eligible for a dividend or another corporate benefit.

The ex-dividend date is the date from which shares trade without entitlement to that upcoming dividend.

Under India’s T+1 settlement framework, an investor generally needs to purchase shares before the ex-dividend date for the securities to settle in time for dividend eligibility.

Buying a stock on the record date when it is already trading ex-dividend does not automatically give the buyer the dividend.

Does Buying a Stock Before Dividend Guarantee Profit?

No.

A dividend should not be viewed as free money.

When a stock begins trading ex-dividend, its market price can theoretically adjust downward by roughly the dividend amount, although actual trading depends on market demand, company fundamentals and broader sentiment.

Investors should therefore consider:

  • Dividend yield
  • Company’s earnings
  • Cash flow
  • Dividend history
  • Debt levels
  • Business outlook
  • Tax implications
  • Overall valuation

Buying solely because a company has announced a large dividend can be risky.

Why Coal India, ONGC, NTPC and GAIL Matter This Week

The presence of several large public-sector companies gives this week’s dividend calendar unusual significance.

Coal India, ONGC, NTPC and GAIL are widely followed by income-focused investors and have substantial retail shareholder bases.

At the same time, elevated global energy prices and geopolitical uncertainty mean ONGC, Oil India, GAIL and other energy stocks are also moving on factors far beyond dividends.

That could create additional volatility around their corporate-action dates.

For investors, the key strategy this week is simple: check the ex-date, record date and official exchange filing before acting.

With nearly 90 corporate actions scheduled across the week, September 4 is likely to emerge as the most closely watched session.
