CASCAIS, Portugal — August 14, 2026
Cristiano Ronaldo wedding celebrations have drawn worldwide attention after the Portuguese soccer star married his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez, 32, tied the knot on August 11, exactly one year after publicly announcing their engagement. The couple confirmed the milestone through a understated joint social media post featuring their wedding rings and the caption “C❤️G.” Ronaldo’s official Instagram post
The intimate ceremony reportedly included the couple’s five children and only a small group of close friends. While the wedding itself remained largely out of public view, details surrounding the couple’s marital property arrangement have since generated significant interest.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez reportedly chose separate property
Publicly circulated information from the couple’s marriage registration indicates that Ronaldo and Rodriguez selected a separation-of-property arrangement.
Under such a structure, each spouse generally retains ownership and control of individual assets, income and investments. Property acquired before the marriage does not automatically become jointly owned, while future earnings can also remain separate depending on the terms of the agreement and applicable law.
For Ronaldo, that could mean income from his soccer career, sponsorship agreements, personal investments and business interests remains under his control. His assets include earnings associated with Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and commercial ventures connected with the CR7 brand.
Rodriguez would similarly retain control of her independent income, investments and business activities.
The arrangement does not necessarily indicate concerns about the relationship. Separate-property agreements are common among couples with substantial assets, international residences and independent business interests.
Are the reported monthly payments confirmed?
Several reports have revived an older claim that Rodriguez would receive a lifetime payment of approximately €100,000 per month if the couple separated. That amount is roughly ₹1.1 crore, although the value would vary with exchange rates.
Those reports have also claimed that Rodriguez would receive ownership of a luxury residence in Madrid’s La Finca neighborhood, reportedly valued at approximately $5.6 million.
However, these specific provisions have not been publicly confirmed by Ronaldo, Rodriguez or their representatives. No authenticated prenuptial document detailing the alleged monthly payment or transfer of the Madrid property has been made publicly available.
The €100,000 payment and La Finca mansion should therefore be described as reported claims, not established terms of the couple’s marriage agreement.
The confirmed separation-of-property structure also does not, by itself, prove that either provision exists.
What happens to Ronaldo’s soccer earnings?
If the reported property arrangement applies as described, Ronaldo would continue to control his soccer salary, endorsement revenue and personal investments after marriage.
His income from Al Nassr, partnerships with international brands and businesses carrying the CR7 name would not automatically become jointly owned merely because of the marriage.
The same principle would apply to Rodriguez’s income from modeling, brand partnerships, social media projects and other commercial ventures.
Any division of assets following a future separation would depend on the precise wording of the couple’s private agreement, the ownership history of individual properties and the law governing each asset.
A deliberately private ceremony
The wedding was reportedly attended by the couple’s children and a limited number of witnesses. Ronaldo’s longtime friend Miguel Paixão and Rodriguez’s sister Ivana Rodriguez were among those identified as witnesses.
Neither Ronaldo’s Portugal teammates nor his Al Nassr colleagues were publicly reported among the guests. The couple also reportedly retained their existing surnames after registering the marriage.
Earlier speculation had suggested that Ronaldo and Rodriguez might hold a large ceremony at Funchal Cathedral on the island of Madeira. Instead, they selected a discreet civil ceremony in Cascais, the coastal municipality west of Lisbon.
No official information has been released about a reception or a larger celebration.
A relationship spanning nearly a decade
Ronaldo and Rodriguez began their relationship in 2016 after meeting in Madrid, where Rodriguez was working at a luxury fashion store.
Their relationship later became public, and Rodriguez has since accompanied Ronaldo through major stages of his career, including his time at Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United and Al Nassr.
The couple announced their engagement on August 11, 2025. One year later, they marked their marriage with a characteristically brief social media announcement rather than an extensive public wedding campaign.
For now, their marriage is confirmed, as is the reported decision to keep their respective property separate. The widely discussed monthly payment and Madrid mansion provisions remain unverified unless the couple or their representatives disclose the underlying agreement.
