Awarapan 2 collected an estimated ₹33.75 crore net in India on August 15, taking its two-day domestic total to approximately ₹55.75 crore. Batwara 1947, meanwhile, earned an estimated ₹13.50 crore on its second day, lifting its two-day India net total to ₹19.25 crore.

‘Awarapan 2’ Benefits From Independence Day Holiday
Awarapan 2 entered double digits on its opening day before registering a sharp rise during the Independence Day holiday. The Nitin Kakkar-directed film earned an estimated ₹33.75 crore on Saturday, representing growth of more than 50% from its reported ₹22 crore opening.

The strong start is significant for Emraan Hashmi, who returns as Shivam Pandit in the sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. The original movie had a modest theatrical run but subsequently developed a strong following through its music, television screenings and home viewing.
That continuing popularity appears to have helped the sequel build anticipation before release. The holiday provided an additional boost, allowing it to widen its lead over the competing Hindi release.
‘Batwara 1947’ Jumps 135% but Remains Behind

Despite entering its third week, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continued to attract Indian audiences during the holiday.
