DRISHYAM: THE CONCLUSION • THE FINAL GAME BEGINS

GOA, India | September 9, 2026 —

Drishyam The Conclusion Trailer has finally arrived, bringing Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar for what promises to be the most dangerous chapter in his family’s long battle to keep the truth buried.

This time, however, Vijay is not dealing with just one determined investigator. The final chapter brings together old enemies, new investigators and fresh evidence that could threaten the carefully constructed story that protected the Salgaonkar family through the first two films.

Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay, while Tabu reprises her role as former IG Meera Deshmukh and Shriya Saran returns as Nandini Salgaonkar. The film also introduces Jaideep Ahlawat as SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar, while Prakash Raj joins the franchise in another crucial role.

The film is scheduled to reach theaters on October 2, 2026.

Vijay Salgaonkar Faces His Toughest Opponent Yet

The roughly 2-minute-52-second trailer immediately puts Vijay and his family back under pressure.

For years, Vijay has relied on patience, observation and carefully planned moves to stay ahead of investigators. The new trailer suggests that those methods may finally be tested by someone who understands exactly how Vijay operates.

Jaideep Ahlawat’s Rajveer Singh Tomar enters the story as a sharp Crime Branch officer who appears unwilling to accept earlier conclusions about the case.

Instead of simply searching for evidence, Rajveer appears to study Vijay himself.

That shift changes the balance of the franchise. Vijay has previously survived because he often understood investigators before they understood him. This time, the trailer suggests his opponent may already recognize the logic behind his moves.

Jaideep Ahlawat Raises the Stakes

Jaideep Ahlawat’s arrival is one of the biggest additions to Drishyam: The Conclusion.

His character, SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar, appears convinced that there is more to Vijay’s story than investigators have been able to prove.

At one point, Vijay acknowledges the seriousness of the situation by noting that investigators now possess strong evidence.

That moment matters because the first two films repeatedly showed Vijay maintaining control even when the pressure around his family became intense.

The trailer suggests that control may now be slipping.

Ahlawat’s character does not appear interested in merely repeating earlier investigations. Instead, he seems determined to reconstruct the case while anticipating Vijay’s next move.

Tabu Returns as Meera Deshmukh

Tabu’s return as Meera Deshmukh adds another emotional layer to the final confrontation.

Meera’s battle with Vijay has never been just another police investigation. The case involves the death of her son, which gives her pursuit of the Salgaonkar family deeply personal stakes.

The trailer indicates that the unresolved conflict between Meera and Vijay remains central to the third film.

Meanwhile, Rajat Kapoor also returns as Mahesh Deshmukh.

Together, the returning characters ensure that the final chapter remains connected to the events that made the original Drishyam such a major Hindi thriller franchise.

Prakash Raj Adds Another Major Challenge

Prakash Raj’s entry further complicates Vijay’s position.

The trailer makes it clear that his character understands one crucial thing about Vijay: lack of formal education should never be mistaken for lack of intelligence.

That idea has always defined Vijay Salgaonkar.

He may not possess the institutional authority of the people investigating him, but he understands human behavior, timing and storytelling exceptionally well.

However, Drishyam: The Conclusion appears determined to ask whether those strengths can protect him indefinitely.

With Rajveer Singh Tomar investigating from one direction and the Deshmukh family continuing its pursuit from another, Vijay may finally face a situation where every possible escape route carries consequences.

Ajay Devgn Says Continuing Drishyam Was Not Easy

At the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn said the team had not been certain after Drishyam 2 that another installment could successfully continue the story.

According to Devgn, extending the narrative presented a major writing challenge because the filmmakers needed to preserve the twists and logic of the earlier films while moving the story forward from precisely where the second chapter ended.

Director Abhishek Pathak eventually brought an idea to the team that generated enthusiasm.

Devgn said the filmmakers then spent around two and a half years developing the screenplay.

He also praised Pathak’s work in finding a way to expand the story without losing the qualities that made the franchise successful.

Why Drishyam 3 Is Being Called ‘The Conclusion’

The title itself delivers one of the biggest clues about the film.

Instead of simply calling the movie Drishyam 3, the makers have titled it Drishyam: The Conclusion.

Ajay Devgn has indicated that the creative team believes this story should bring Vijay Salgaonkar’s journey to an appropriate endpoint.

That makes the stakes significantly higher.

Audiences are no longer simply asking how Vijay will escape another investigation.

They are asking a much bigger question:

Will Vijay Salgaonkar finally get away with everything — or will the truth catch up with him?

Hindi Drishyam 3 Takes Its Own Direction

Another interesting element surrounds the relationship between the Hindi franchise and the Malayalam original starring Mohanlal.

Devgn has expressed hope that Mohanlal and the original creative team will eventually watch the Hindi film. He has also indicated that the Hindi installment takes the story in its own direction.

That gives Drishyam: The Conclusion an additional layer of curiosity.

Instead of audiences knowing exactly where the adaptation may go, the Hindi version now has room to deliver its own final surprises.

October 2 Becomes Important Once Again

The makers will release Drishyam: The Conclusion in theaters on October 2, 2026.

For longtime followers of the franchise, the date carries an unmistakable connection to Vijay Salgaonkar’s elaborate alibi and the mythology surrounding the earlier films.

That connection gives the release date additional promotional weight.

More importantly, the trailer positions the movie as a genuine final showdown rather than another routine sequel.

Vijay has survived investigations, interrogation and increasingly sophisticated attempts to expose his secret.

Now the final question remains:

Can Vijay save the Salgaonkar family one last time, or has he finally encountered an opponent who can see through his plan?
