Box Office Collection Today August 31: Toxic Hits ₹285 Crore Worldwide, Irumudi Roars as Bethlehem Nears ₹200 Crore

Box Office Collection Today August 31 has delivered a fascinating Monday morning scoreboard. Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups remains the undisputed nationwide leader after crossing ₹214 crore net in India and ₹285 crore worldwide, but its Sunday collection has raised an important question about how strongly the film can hold on its first Monday.

Meanwhile, Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has produced a terrific second-Sunday jump, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now within touching distance of ₹200 crore worldwide, Awarapan 2 has crossed ₹209 crore globally, and Suriya’s Vishwanath and Sons is also closing in on the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone.

Monday now becomes the real test.

Box Office Collection Today: Latest Scorecard

Box-office numbers are industry-tracking estimates and may differ from final producer or distributor figures.

Toxic Crosses ₹214 Crore India Net

Yash’s Toxic continues to dominate the Indian theatrical market.

The film collected an estimated ₹23 crore net across India on Sunday, taking its five-day domestic total to approximately:

₹214.10 Crore India Net

Its India gross has reached roughly ₹255.95 crore, while overseas collections have pushed the estimated worldwide total to:

₹285.20 Crore Worldwide

The ₹300 crore global milestone is now extremely close.

However, the daily trend deserves attention.

Toxic opened with a gigantic ₹101.10 crore India net, followed by:

• Day 1: ₹101.10 crore
• Day 2: ₹37.65 crore
• Day 3: ₹27.20 crore
• Day 4: ₹25.15 crore
• Day 5: ₹23.00 crore

Instead of jumping on Sunday, the film slipped around 8.5% from Saturday.

That does not change the fact that ₹214 crore in five days is enormous. But it does make Monday, August 31 the most important box-office test so far.

The first Monday will show how much demand remains once the opening frenzy and weekend support disappear.

Hindi Version Is Driving Toxic’s Numbers

Interestingly, the Hindi version continues to contribute the largest amount in absolute terms.

On Sunday, Toxic earned approximately:

• Hindi: ₹14.50 crore
• Kannada: ₹6.40 crore
• Telugu: ₹1.40 crore
• Tamil: ₹0.60 crore
• Malayalam: ₹0.10 crore

After five days, the Hindi version alone has generated around ₹129.50 crore net.

Kannada remains exceptionally important for occupancy and Yash’s core fan base, but Hindi markets have given Toxic the scale required for a massive pan-India total.

Irumudi Roars With ₹15 Crore Sunday

If Toxic owns the overall crown, Irumudi produced one of Sunday’s strongest holds.

The Ravi Teja film collected approximately ₹15 crore India net on Day 10, jumping around 22% from Saturday’s ₹12.30 crore.

That takes its total to:

₹129.55 Crore India Net

Its India gross is around ₹150.45 crore, while the worldwide gross has climbed to approximately:

₹170.95 Crore

This is an impressive result because Irumudi is competing against Toxic while already being in its second theatrical weekend.

Its strong Sunday suggests the Telugu film continues to enjoy substantial regional support despite losing some premium screens to Yash’s pan-India release.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Is Closing In on ₹200 Crore

One of the most remarkable stories at the Indian box office is Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.

The Malayalam film earned approximately ₹10.40 crore India net on its second Sunday, taking its domestic net collection to:

₹82.45 Crore

Its India gross has reached around ₹96.15 crore.

But the extraordinary part is overseas.

The film’s overseas gross has surged to approximately ₹98.50 crore, pushing its worldwide total to:

₹194.65 Crore

That leaves Bethlehem Kudumba Unit barely ₹5.35 crore away from the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone.

For a Malayalam film, the scale of its overseas contribution is especially significant.

Vishwanath and Sons Inches Towards ₹200 Crore Worldwide

Suriya’s Vishwanath and Sons continues to hold its ground in its third weekend.

The movie earned an estimated ₹2.55 crore net on Sunday, taking its India net total to approximately:

₹116 Crore

Its India gross stands near ₹134.30 crore, while overseas business has climbed to around ₹63.20 crore.

That pushes the worldwide collection to:

₹197.50 Crore

Only about ₹2.50 crore now separates the film from the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone.

The third-weekend hold also shows that Vishwanath and Sons continues to find audiences even after Toxic reshaped screen allocation across India.

Awarapan 2 Refuses to Leave the Race

Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 may no longer be competing for the daily box-office crown, but its theatrical run has already become a major commercial success.

The film collected around ₹1.40 crore net on its third Sunday, registering modest growth over Saturday.

Its current totals stand at approximately:

₹148.10 Crore India Net

₹209.50 Crore Worldwide

Awarapan 2 has therefore comfortably crossed the ₹200 crore worldwide benchmark despite losing significant screen space following Toxic’s arrival.

Its longevity is particularly notable because the sequel has now completed more than two weeks in cinemas.

Hi Shows Weekend Growth

Among newer Tamil releases, Hi has made a smaller but encouraging start.

The film collected approximately ₹2.23 crore net on Sunday, slightly above its ₹2.15 crore Saturday collection.

Its three-day India net total now stands at:

₹5.63 Crore

Sunday occupancy strengthened, giving the film some momentum heading into Monday.

Its weekday performance will now determine whether that weekend interest can translate into a longer theatrical run.

Which Film Won Sunday?

In raw nationwide collections, there is no debate.

Toxic remained No. 1 with ₹23 crore.

But Sunday produced more than one winner.

Irumudi delivered a powerful ₹15 crore second-Sunday collection.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit earned ₹10.40 crore and moved within striking distance of ₹200 crore worldwide.

Vishwanath and Sons also moved to ₹197.50 crore globally.

Awarapan 2 continued adding to an already successful run.

So the current box-office picture is not simply Toxic versus everyone else.

It is a multi-language theatrical race in which Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam audiences are all producing significant winners.

Toxic Faces Its Biggest Test Today

Monday will tell us more about Toxic than another huge weekend headline can.

The film’s ₹101.10 crore opening was extraordinary, but daily collections have declined on every completed day since release.

If Toxic holds strongly on Day 6, the road towards much larger lifetime totals remains wide open.

If Monday produces a steep fall, the discussion will shift increasingly towards how front-loaded its spectacular opening was.

For Irumudi, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and the older holdovers, Monday will also reveal how much screen space and audience demand they can retain in Toxic’s shadow.

As of Monday morning, however, the verdict remains clear:

Yash leads the box office — but Irumudi and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit are making sure this race is anything but boring.
