IMD’s Colaba forecast calls for a generally cloudy sky with light rain, with temperatures near 26°C to 32°C. The station recorded 11.6 mm of rain in the preceding observation period.
Worli could see temperatures around 26°C to 33°C, while parts of Mumbai may experience one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Therefore, commuters and people heading outdoors may want to keep rain protection handy even though IMD has not listed a major warning for these Mumbai stations today.
Kolkata Weather Today: Thunderstorm and Lightning Risk
Kolkata deserves closer attention today.
IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers around Dum Dum. Temperatures could range from roughly 27°C to 34°C.
The forecast also flags the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph.
More broadly, IMD’s September 20 warning bulletin for Gangetic West Bengal lists thunderstorms, lightning and squall-related weather for today. Heavy-rain risk becomes more prominent in the region from September 22 onward.
People outdoors during thunder activity should avoid exposed open areas and take shelter in a safe building.
Bengaluru Weather Today: Rain or Thundershowers Possible
Bengaluru may see another unsettled day.
IMD’s Bengaluru City forecast expects a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, along with a thunderstorm and lightning warning. Temperatures are expected near 21°C to 31°C.
The forecast indicates similar conditions on Monday before rain chances gradually ease later in the week.
For commuters, the biggest concern may come from short-duration showers rather than continuous rainfall.
Chennai Weather Today: Watch the Evening and Night
Chennai could remain warm through the daytime before the weather turns more active later.
At Meenambakkam, IMD expects temperatures around 26°C to 35°C with rain or thundershowers toward evening or night. A thunderstorm with lightning warning is also listed.
Nungambakkam may reach around 36°C, making Chennai one of the warmer major metros today before possible evening rain provides some relief.

The clearest contrast today lies between northern and eastern-southern India.
