Trump Keeps Larger Military Operation Against Iran Possible
Trump Iran military escalation remains possible after President Donald Trump declined to rule out a broader operation against Tehran.
Trump addressed the possibility while speaking with reporters at the White House. However, he provided no operational details or timeline.
Asked whether larger military action remained available, Trump said the United States had the necessary capability.
“If we want to do that, we certainly have the capability,” Trump said. “You’ll find out.”
Nevertheless, his remarks did not confirm that new military action had been ordered. They also offered no information about possible targets.
The comments followed another round of discussions involving Iran. Still, Trump did not explain the negotiations’ current status or disclose any proposed agreement.

Trump Rejects Tehran’s Compensation Demand
Meanwhile, Trump dismissed Iran’s reported demand for compensation covering damage caused by American military operations.
Instead, he argued that Iran should compensate people allegedly harmed by its actions during the past five decades.
Trump referred to people reportedly killed or injured because of Iranian policies. Additionally, he mentioned families of protesters killed during domestic unrest.
“If anyone should receive compensation, Iran should pay it,” Trump said.
However, Trump did not identify a legal mechanism for pursuing those payments. He also provided no specific calculation for the proposed compensation.

US President Claims Complete Control of Strait of Hormuz
Trump also claimed that the US Navy controls the Strait of Hormuz completely.
According to Trump, the strategic waterway remains open for approved shipping. However, he said vessels cannot use it to reach Iran.
“We control the Strait of Hormuz 100%,” Trump said.
He described the American maritime blockade as a strong “steel wall.” Furthermore, he said US forces decide which vessels may enter or leave.
The claim carries significant economic importance. The Strait of Hormuz supports major energy shipments from Gulf producers to international markets.
However, control of the waterway remains disputed. Iran continues to claim authority over waters bordering its territory.

According to him, American forces searched the area and removed mines from the entire strait.
“We have cleared the whole Strait of Hormuz of mines,” Trump said.
