Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18

Release date: August 10, 2026
Streaming time: 9 p.m. IST
Platform: SonyLIV
Host: Amitabh Bachchan

The week begins with the return of one of India’s longest-running quiz shows. Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, popularly known as KBC 18, premieres on Monday, August 10, at 9 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.

Amitabh Bachchan returns as host, once again welcoming contestants to the hot seat and testing their knowledge through a sequence of questions carrying increasingly valuable cash prizes. SonyLIV’s official listing confirms that contestants will compete for a jackpot of up to ₹7 crore.

KBC 18 is built around the new theme “Sochna Padega,” emphasizing practical knowledge, careful reasoning and the ability to think under pressure.

The premiere episode will feature Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. The three actors are appearing as special guests while promoting the Partition-era film Batwara 1947. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta star in the film, while Aamir Khan is among its producers.

The celebrity premiere will combine questions with conversations about cinema, memories and the making of Batwara 1947. Sunny Deol’s appearance is particularly notable because it marks his first visit to the KBC hot seat.

KBC 18’s August 10 premiere is confirmed on the show’s official SonyLIV page.

The Traitors Season 2

Release date: August 13, 2026
Platform: Prime Video
Host: Karan Johar
Release schedule: New episodes every Thursday

After a successful first season, The Traitors India returns with another group of celebrities attempting to survive a game built around deception, suspicion and secret alliances.

Karan Johar returns as host of the psychological reality competition, which premieres on Prime Video on Thursday, August 13. New episodes will be released every Thursday.

The format divides the players into two secret groups: Traitors and Innocents. The Traitors must eliminate Innocents without revealing their identities, while the Innocents must identify and remove the Traitors before the game reaches its conclusion.

Contestants participate in missions to increase the prize fund. They later gather to discuss suspicions and vote out the person they believe is secretly working as a Traitor. If a Traitor survives until the end, that player may claim the entire prize.

Season 2 features 21 celebrity contestants from film, television, comedy, food, music and digital entertainment. The lineup includes:

  • Mallika Sherawat
  • Rhea Chakraborty
  • Munawar Faruqui
  • Krystle D’Souza
  • Shweta Tiwari
  • Shalini Passi
  • Abhishek Malhan
  • Ranveer Brar
  • Parul Gulati
  • Dalip Tahil
  • Ikka Singh
  • Soundous Moufakir

The competition once again takes place at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer. Prime Video has confirmed the premiere and weekly schedule through its official Season 2 announcement.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata

Release date: August 14, 2026
Platform: ZEE5
Lead actor: Kangana Ranaut
Genre: Real-events-inspired survival drama

Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata will make its digital debut on ZEE5 on Friday, August 14, giving viewers an Independence Day weekend option centered on courage, public duty and survival.

The film was released theatrically on June 12, 2026, and is now moving to streaming approximately two months after its cinema debut.

Inspired by real events, the story transforms an ordinary hospital into a place of crisis, fear and resistance. It focuses on medical workers and other everyday individuals who are forced to respond when a life-threatening emergency unfolds around them.

Rather than presenting heroism only through soldiers or political leaders, the film explores the contribution of ordinary professionals who continue performing their responsibilities under extreme pressure.

The cast includes Kangana Ranaut, Girija Oak Godbole and Smita Tambe. Its August 14 arrival gives families an opportunity to watch the film over the Independence Day holiday weekend.

The release date is listed on the movie’s official ZEE5 page.

Cocktail 2

Release date: August 14, 2026
Platform: Netflix
Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna
Director: Homi Adajania

Viewers looking for a romantic drama can add Cocktail 2 to their Independence Day weekend watchlist.

The film is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix on August 14, following its theatrical release on June 19, 2026. It brings together Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the principal roles.

Directed by Homi Adajania, the film follows the spirit of the earlier Cocktail while presenting a new set of characters and relationship conflicts. Friendship, attraction, emotional uncertainty and complicated personal choices form the center of the narrative.

The pairing of Shahid Kapoor with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna gives the movie three established performers with strong followings across Hindi and regional cinema.

Its digital release is expected to make the film accessible to viewers who missed its theatrical run or want to revisit the romantic drama at home. Because Netflix catalogs can vary by country, viewers outside India should check their local service before the August 14 premiere.

Bigg Boss: The Common Man

Release date: August 16, 2026
Platform: JioHotstar
Language: Tamil
Genre: Reality competition

The week will conclude with Bigg Boss: The Common Man, a Tamil-language digital pre-show and spin-off connected to the wider Bigg Boss Tamil franchise.

Unlike the main celebrity-focused format, the new program invites people from ordinary backgrounds to compete for an opportunity to enter the primary Bigg Boss house.

Aspiring contestants will face tasks, evaluations and elimination rounds designed to test their personality, adaptability and ability to handle the pressures associated with the reality-show format.

The winner will earn an opportunity to participate in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10, hosted by Vijay Sethupathi. The pre-show therefore serves as both a standalone reality competition and a selection process for the upcoming main season.

JioHotstar lists the program as a Tamil U/A 16+ release arriving on August 16. The date is confirmed on its official JioHotstar show page.

In the Grey

Platform: Prime Video
Director: Guy Ritchie
Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González and Rosamund Pike
Genre: Action thriller

Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey adds international action to the week’s viewing options.

The film follows a covert team of elite operatives sent to recover a billion-dollar fortune stolen by a dangerous adversary. The mission takes the team to hostile territory, where recovering the money becomes more complicated after they must also rescue a high-profile negotiator.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill lead the cast, supported by Eiza González, Rosamund Pike, Kristofer Hivju and Fisher Stevens.

The movie runs for approximately one hour and 36 minutes and combines action, suspense, heist elements and the fast-paced team dynamics commonly associated with Guy Ritchie’s filmmaking.

Prime Video currently lists In the Grey, but access conditions vary. In some regions, the film may be available as a rental or digital purchase rather than as part of the standard Prime subscription. Viewers should confirm the price and access label on the official Prime Video listing before watching.

The week’s streaming lineup covers several viewing preferences:

  • Stream Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata for a serious survival drama inspired by courage during a public crisis.
