Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection has crossed a major milestone, with the Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani-starrer entering the ₹100 crore club in India within its first five days in theaters. The romantic action drama has maintained a commanding lead over Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947, which has accumulated ₹30.75 crore India net over the same period.
Both films arrived in theaters during the Independence Day holiday weekend, setting up a major Bollywood box office clash. However, Awarapan 2 established a substantial advantage from opening day and has continued to stay ahead even after the crucial weekday test.
Tuesday’s collections provided another encouraging sign for Awarapan 2. After earning ₹9.25 crore on Monday, the film improved slightly to ₹9.75 crore on Tuesday, taking its five-day India net total to approximately ₹100.75 crore.
Meanwhile, Batwara 1947 showed a small improvement on Tuesday after a sharp post-weekend decline, but the gap between the two releases remains considerable.
Awarapan 2 Crosses ₹100 Crore in Five Days
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 has emerged as the clear leader in the box office contest.
The film opened strongly with approximately ₹22 crore in India. Positive audience interest and the holiday weekend helped it record an even bigger jump on its second day, when collections reached ₹33.75 crore.
On its third day, the film collected another ₹26 crore, taking advantage of strong weekend footfalls.
The first major test arrived on Monday. As expected for a weekday, collections dropped sharply from the weekend levels, but the film still managed a respectable ₹9.25 crore.
Tuesday brought a slight improvement, with collections rising to approximately ₹9.75 crore.
That pushed the film past the coveted ₹100 crore benchmark.
Awarapan 2 Five-Day India Net Collection
Day 1: ₹22 crore
Day 2: ₹33.75 crore
Day 3: ₹26 crore
Day 4: ₹9.25 crore
Day 5: ₹9.75 crore
Total India Net Collection: ₹100.75 crore
Crossing ₹100 crore in only five days gives Awarapan 2 a significant commercial advantage as it enters the remainder of its first theatrical week.
Emraan Hashmi Gets a Major Box Office Milestone
The performance is particularly significant for Emraan Hashmi.
Awarapan 2 has become the first film headlined by Hashmi as the principal solo male lead to cross the ₹100 crore India net benchmark, marking an important commercial milestone in his career.
The sequel also benefits from the enduring popularity of the original Awarapan, which developed a strong cult following after its theatrical release.
The new installment brings Hashmi back to the franchise while introducing Disha Patani as a major addition to the cast.
The strong opening weekend and comparatively steady weekday performance indicate that the sequel has managed to convert nostalgia surrounding the original film into substantial theatrical business.
Batwara 1947 Reaches ₹30.75 Crore
Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947, meanwhile, has faced a more difficult box office journey.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the historical drama opened with approximately ₹5.75 crore.
The film then witnessed a major jump on Saturday, collecting ₹13.50 crore, its strongest single-day performance so far.
However, the momentum did not continue at the same level on Sunday. Collections dropped to approximately ₹7.25 crore.
The decline became more pronounced once the working week began. Monday brought an estimated ₹2 crore, before Tuesday recorded a modest recovery to approximately ₹2.25 crore.
Batwara 1947 Five-Day India Net Collection
Day 1: ₹5.75 crore
Day 2: ₹13.50 crore
Day 3: ₹7.25 crore
Day 4: ₹2 crore
Day 5: ₹2.25 crore
Total India Net Collection: ₹30.75 crore
Although Tuesday’s business was marginally better than Monday’s, the film will need stronger weekday stability to narrow the gap with its competitor.
Awarapan 2 vs Batwara 1947: The Gap Widens
The five-day numbers underline the scale of the difference between the two Bollywood releases.
Awarapan 2 stands at ₹100.75 crore, compared with ₹30.75 crore for Batwara 1947.
That means the Emraan Hashmi film has earned roughly ₹70 crore more than the Sunny Deol-starrer during their first five days.
The contrast is particularly noticeable because both films had access to the same holiday period and entered theaters at the same time.
While Batwara 1947 received a substantial Saturday boost, it has so far struggled to maintain that momentum.
Awarapan 2, on the other hand, converted its powerful opening into a ₹100 crore five-day total.
Tuesday Brings Small Growth for Both Films
Interestingly, both films registered a slight increase on Tuesday compared with Monday.
Awarapan 2 moved from ₹9.25 crore on Monday to ₹9.75 crore on Tuesday.
Batwara 1947 increased from ₹2 crore to ₹2.25 crore.
The improvement is significant because Tuesday usually provides a clearer picture of a film’s weekday sustainability after the initial opening and holiday-driven demand have faded.
The next few days will now determine how well each title can retain screens and audiences before the second weekend.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Continues Strong India Run
Hollywood blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day is also continuing its impressive theatrical run in India despite being well into its third week.
The Tom Holland-starrer collected approximately ₹2.10 crore India net on its 19th day, Monday, as weekday business slowed after another weekend.
On Tuesday, Day 20, collections improved to approximately ₹2.55 crore.
With that, the film’s estimated India net collection has reached approximately ₹471.70 crore.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Latest India Collection
Day 19: ₹2.10 crore
Day 20: ₹2.55 crore
Estimated India Net Total After Day 20: ₹471.70 crore
Maintaining collections above ₹2 crore this deep into its theatrical run reflects the superhero film’s continued audience pull in the Indian market.
Three Films, Three Very Different Box Office Stories
The current India box office is presenting three contrasting performances.
Awarapan 2 has emerged as the dominant new Bollywood release, racing beyond ₹100 crore within five days.
Batwara 1947, despite its star cast and Independence Day release window, remains substantially behind at ₹30.75 crore.
At the same time, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to attract audiences even during its third week, with its India net collection moving toward the ₹500 crore benchmark.
For Awarapan 2, attention will now shift to whether it can maintain weekday momentum and deliver another substantial jump during its second weekend.
For Batwara 1947, the next few days will be crucial. Stronger audience turnout will be needed if the historical drama is to improve its overall theatrical trajectory.
