Box Office India Today has delivered a dramatic start to September. Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has stormed past the ₹300 crore worldwide milestone, but its first Monday numbers have exposed a sharp slowdown after the blockbuster opening.
Meanwhile, Ravi Teja’s Irumudi continues to show impressive strength in its second week, while the small-budget Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the most unexpected box-office stories of the season.
Toxic Crosses ₹304 Crore Worldwide
Yash’s Toxic remains the biggest film currently driving the Indian box office.
The film collected an estimated ₹7.45 crore net in India on Day 6, taking its domestic net collection to approximately ₹221.55 crore.
Its India gross has reached around ₹264.80 crore, while overseas business stands near ₹39.25 crore.
That takes the film’s estimated worldwide gross to an impressive:

However, the milestone comes with a warning.
Monday’s ₹7.45 crore collection represented a steep 67.6% decline from Sunday’s ₹23 crore.
Toxic Monday Crash Becomes the Real Story
The first weekday test was always going to be important for Toxic after its giant opening.
The film began with an extraordinary ₹101.10 crore India net on Day 1, followed by ₹37.65 crore on Thursday, ₹27.20 crore on Friday, ₹25.15 crore on Saturday and ₹23 crore on Sunday.
Monday then dropped to ₹7.45 crore.
That decline does not make the film a failure—the ₹300 crore worldwide milestone is already significant—but Tuesday and Wednesday collections will now determine whether Toxic stabilises or continues to lose momentum rapidly.
Hindi Version Leads Toxic’s Monday Business
Interestingly, Hindi remained the biggest contributor to Toxic on Monday.
The estimated Day 6 language-wise collections were:
- Hindi: ₹4.40 crore
- Kannada: ₹2 crore
- Telugu: ₹68 lakh
- Tamil: ₹30 lakh
- Malayalam: ₹7 lakh
Despite Yash’s huge Kannada fan base, the Hindi version has become crucial to the film’s pan-India box-office performance.

Irumudi Refuses to Slow Down
Ravi Teja’s Irumudi is quietly building a powerful theatrical run.
The film collected approximately ₹6.15 crore net on its second Monday, taking its India net total to around ₹135.70 crore.
Its India gross has climbed to approximately ₹157.60 crore, while worldwide gross has reached around ₹178.60 crore.
The ₹6.15 crore Monday performance came despite a significant decline from Sunday, showing that the Telugu family drama still has enough audience support to maintain a meaningful weekday run.
Hanuman Ansh Becomes the Box Office Wild Card
Perhaps the most fascinating story at the box office is Hanuman Ansh.
The film began its theatrical journey with an estimated opening of just ₹10 lakh, but strong word of mouth has transformed its performance weeks after release.
On Day 25, it collected an estimated ₹5.15 crore net, pushing its India net collection to approximately ₹45.28 crore.
For a film that struggled to attract audiences during its first two weeks, the late surge is remarkable.
The film demonstrates how audience recommendations and social-media momentum can sometimes completely alter a movie’s theatrical trajectory.
Awarapan 2 Slows After Strong Run
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is now deep into its theatrical run.
The film collected around ₹50 lakh net on Day 18, taking its estimated India net total to ₹148.40 crore and worldwide gross to approximately ₹210.20 crore.
The film has clearly lost much of its daily momentum, but crossing ₹200 crore worldwide leaves it with a strong cumulative box-office result.

India Box Office: Who Is Winning Right Now?
Based on the latest available totals, the current theatrical picture looks sharply divided.
Toxic remains the biggest event film and has already crossed ₹300 crore worldwide.
Irumudi is displaying the strongest sustained second-week performance among the major regional releases.
Hanuman Ansh is the surprise word-of-mouth winner, while Awarapan 2 is nearing the closing phase of a successful run.
The next 48 hours will be particularly important for Toxic. If the film stabilises after Monday’s steep fall, another major milestone could arrive quickly. However, another sharp weekday decline could substantially change its long-term box-office trajectory.
