MUMBAI, India | August 23, 2026
Awarapan 2 box office collection Day 9 delivered another major milestone for Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s film as the romantic action drama crossed ₹180 crore worldwide after a strong second-Saturday jump.
The film collected an estimated ₹8.25 crore net in India on Day 9, taking its nine-day domestic net total to approximately ₹127.50 crore. Its worldwide gross has now climbed to about ₹180.91 crore, keeping Awarapan 2 comfortably ahead of Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947 in their direct box office clash.
More importantly for the film’s long-term run, Awarapan 2 registered a significant jump from its second Friday collection, signaling that audience interest remains strong even after completing its first week in theaters.
Awarapan 2 Day 9 Collection Jumps on Second Saturday
After slowing during the weekdays, Awarapan 2 regained momentum on its second Saturday.
The film earned approximately ₹8.25 crore net on Day 9, compared with ₹5.75 crore on Day 8. That represents a jump of about 43.5% in daily collections.
The second-weekend growth is an encouraging sign for the Emraan Hashmi-led film because movies typically face sharper drops after their first seven days unless strong word of mouth continues to bring audiences into theaters.
With Sunday still capable of delivering another significant contribution, Awarapan 2 is now moving toward its next major global milestone.
Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection Day Wise
The film opened strongly and dominated its first weekend before settling into comparatively lower weekday collections.
Day 1: ₹22.00 crore
Day 2: ₹33.75 crore
Day 3: ₹26.00 crore
Day 4: ₹9.25 crore
Day 5: ₹9.75 crore
Day 6: ₹6.75 crore
Day 7: ₹6.00 crore
Day 8: ₹5.75 crore
Day 9: ₹8.25 crore
Total India Net After 9 Days: ₹127.50 crore
The film’s biggest single-day performance so far came on Day 2, when it collected ₹33.75 crore net in India.
Awarapan 2 Worldwide Collection Reaches ₹180.91 Crore
The overseas market has also contributed to the sequel’s strong global performance.
After nine days, Awarapan 2 has recorded approximately:
- India Net: ₹127.50 crore
- India Gross: ₹152.11 crore
- Overseas Gross: ₹28.80 crore
- Worldwide Gross: ₹180.91 crore
Crossing ₹180 crore worldwide within nine days puts the movie within striking distance of the ₹200 crore global milestone.
A strong Sunday performance could bring the film significantly closer to that mark.
Awarapan 2 Stays Far Ahead of Batwara 1947
The theatrical battle between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 has emerged as one of the major Bollywood box office stories of August.
Both films arrived in theaters on August 14, but their commercial trajectories have been dramatically different.
While Awarapan 2 has crossed ₹127 crore net in India and ₹180 crore worldwide, Batwara 1947 has struggled to generate comparable numbers despite featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
By Day 9, Batwara 1947 had collected approximately ₹35.50 crore net in India, while its worldwide collection had moved above ₹51 crore.
That leaves Awarapan 2 with a massive lead in the head-to-head box office contest.
Why Awarapan 2 Is Finding Audiences
One of the biggest advantages for Awarapan 2 has been the emotional recall attached to the original Awarapan, which was released in 2007.
Although the first film did not emerge as a major theatrical blockbuster when initially released, it developed a strong following over the years, particularly because of its music, emotional storyline and Emraan Hashmi’s performance.
The sequel has attempted to reconnect with that audience while also attracting younger moviegoers.
Its music and the revival of familiar elements associated with the original film have helped create strong nostalgia around the franchise.
Emraan Hashmi’s return to one of his most recognizable screen worlds has also become an important promotional hook for the sequel.
Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani Lead Awarapan 2
Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani in the lead roles.
The film also features Shabana Azmi, Shriya Saran, Puran Gabbi and Suvinder Vicky in important roles.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the sequel arrives nearly two decades after the original film developed its cult following among audiences.
The combination of franchise nostalgia, music and renewed audience interest in Emraan Hashmi appears to have given the sequel a substantial advantage at the box office.
Can Awarapan 2 Cross ₹200 Crore Worldwide?
That has now become the biggest box office question surrounding the film.
At ₹180.91 crore worldwide after nine days, Awarapan 2 needs roughly another ₹19 crore to enter the ₹200 crore global club.
Its second-Saturday growth suggests the milestone is within reach if the film maintains momentum through Sunday and continues to hold during the following weekdays.
However, upcoming releases and the availability of screens will become increasingly important as the film enters the later stages of its theatrical run.
For now, the numbers clearly show that Awarapan 2 remains the stronger performer in its clash with Batwara 1947 and is heading toward another significant box office benchmark.
