The newly unveiled footage explores how an exceptionally intelligent and compassionate Victor became Doctor Doom, the armored antagonist played by Robert Downey Jr. It also shows the extraordinary power that could make Doom one of the most dangerous enemies the Avengers have ever faced.
Marvel Studios previously released the movie’s first full trailer, introducing Doom alongside the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and other returning characters. Widespread destruction and a divided battlefield
After establishing Victor’s backstory, the footage moves into scenes of large-scale devastation.
The Avengers are shown preparing to confront Doom as the conflict expands across what appears to be a multiverse-level battlefield. Ant-Man, Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Thor are among the heroes featured.

Doctor Doom stops Thor’s Stormbreaker
One of the footage’s biggest moments involves a direct confrontation between Thor and Doctor Doom.
Thor attacks Doom using Stormbreaker, the enchanted weapon introduced in Avengers: Infinity War. However, Doom stops the weapon with two fingers before throwing it aside.
The scene is designed to establish Doom’s strength immediately. Stormbreaker has previously been depicted as one of the MCU’s most formidable weapons, making Doom’s apparently effortless response particularly significant.
The footage then shows Doom using his abilities against Thor, reinforcing the scale of the threat facing the Avengers.
Exactly how Doom can resist Stormbreaker has not been explained. His abilities may involve a combination of advanced technology, energy manipulation and mystical power, but any detailed explanation remains speculative until Marvel reveals more of the story.
Thor and Doom exchange ominous warnings
The confrontation also includes a heated exchange between the two characters.
Before attacking, Thor warns Doom that he will make the villain beg before sending him to hell. Doom blocks the assault and responds by declaring that even hell would obey his command.
The exchange reinforces Doom’s confidence and presents him as an adversary who does not appear intimidated by an Asgardian god.
However, trailers are frequently edited to conceal context. It is therefore unclear whether the dialogue and action shown occur together exactly as presented in the promotional footage.
Who plays Doctor Doom?
Robert Downey Jr. plays Victor von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, marking his return to the MCU in a role entirely different from Tony Stark and Iron Man.

Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely are credited as writers on the project.
Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, return to direct Avengers: Doomsday. Their involvement has increased expectations that the film will deliver another large-scale crossover story.
The movie will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for theatrical release in December 2027.
