Veteran Indian actor Pradeep Rawat, known for his memorable performances in blockbuster films such as Lagaan, Ghajini, Chatrapathi, and Veeram, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, at the age of 74 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The news of his demise was confirmed by his manager, Siddharth, who said the actor breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai after his health deteriorated in recent weeks.

Manager Confirms the Tragic News

Speaking about the actor’s passing, Siddharth confirmed:

“Yes, the news is true. He passed away a few hours ago. He breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai.”

Rawat had been undergoing treatment for cancer and had been hospitalized for several weeks before his condition worsened.

Cancer Returned After Four Years

According to his manager, Pradeep Rawat was first diagnosed with cancer nearly four years ago. After undergoing treatment, he successfully recovered and returned to normal life.

However, about six weeks ago, doctors detected a recurrence of the disease.

Despite intensive treatment, his health continued to decline.

Health Deteriorated Rapidly

Rawat remained under medical care after the cancer returned. During his treatment, he reportedly suffered a sharp drop in platelet count and later developed a viral fever, which further complicated his condition.

His manager explained that the combination of the recurring cancer, falling platelet levels, and infection led to multiple health complications, ultimately resulting in his passing.

Underwent Treatment at Multiple Hospitals

Initially, the actor was treated for nearly three weeks at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

He was later shifted to a specialized cancer hospital, where he remained under treatment for the last several days before passing away.

Family Was by His Side

According to Siddharth, Rawat’s wife and son, Vikramaditya, were present at the hospital during his final moments.

The family remained with him throughout his treatment.

Final Rites

Pradeep Rawat’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Imperial Heights, Goregaon West, on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to allow friends, colleagues, and admirers to pay their last respects.
