Apart from being the most popular ethnic wear for women, the saree also holds great cultural significance for Indian women especially married women. A treasure trove of beautiful memories is opened when Sakhi finds a beautiful saree from Vandana’s cupboard. Vandana fondly shows her daughter the saree and tells her that it was part of a bridal trousseau, and it’s extremely special to her as that is her maike (maternal home) ki saree. In the upcoming episodes of Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya, Sakhi suggests a lovely idea to celebrate ‘Maike Ki Saree Day’ and what unfolds next is both beautiful and shocking.
While all the women are excited to wear their sarees and celebrate the day. Sakhi makes a reservation for the ladies at a nice fancy restaurant. Radhika, Vandana, Jyoti and Yamini all dress in their beautiful sarees and are ready to celebrate their special day when they are stopped at the entrance by the receptionist of the restaurant. According to the rules of the restaurant, sarees as an attire isn’t allowed. The ladies are left aghast with this absurd rule and return home disappointed. Sakhi decides to go to the restaurant and speak with the receptionist, but she does not budge, nor is willing to change the rules, which leaves Sakhi agitated and she begins to protest right outside the restaurant with chants of “Saree mein naari’, Sanskriti humari”.
