The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari inaugurated the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp- 2010 organised by Directorate General, National Cadet Corps (NCC) here today. A contingent of smartly turned out NCC cadets drawn from all the three wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force, presented a guard of honour to the Vice President on his arrival at the NCC camp. He visited the Hall of Fame where he showed keen interest in the exhibits related to various activities of NCC and Armed Forces. He also visited the various plaques put up by the state NCC units and got himself photographed with the group of cadets of all state units.
Addressing the cadets the Vice President said that the country has still not been able to utilize the full potential of the youth. He called upon the cadets to come forward and play a vital role in Nation building. He said that the cadets hailing from different parts of the country, with different linguistic and religious background, represent a ‘Mini India.’ He said that the rigorous discipline the NCC cadets are put through is very useful training of both the body and the mind. He congratulated Director General, NCC, his officers and the cadets for the impressive parade and display of NCC activities
