The Embassy and Consulates of the United States of America in India have broken their records. Around 1,25,000 student visas were issued in the financial year 2022.
State Department spokesman Ned Price told a press conference. Responding to a question about the delay in issuing visa backlog for Indian tourists, Price acknowledged that there have been delays, but our embassies and consulates in India broke its all-time record for the number of student visas issued in a single year.
In fiscal year 2022, we have issued approximately 125,000 student visas.
