On June 22, 2023 , US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will play host to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a state dinner. This official state visit is set to strengthen the already close relationship between the United States and India, according to a statement from the White House.
The visit is expected to foster greater connections between Americans and Indians, and to underscore both countries’ commitment to a free, open, prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific region. During their meeting, Biden and Modi are expected to explore ways to expand educational exchanges and people-to-people ties. Additionally, they will work together to address challenges such as climate change, workforce development, and health security.
The White House statement further noted that the visit will reinforce the shared resolve of the two nations to enhance their strategic technology partnership, particularly in the areas of defence, clean energy, and space.
