US citizens leaving Russia immediately
The US embassy in Moscow has urged US citizens living in Russia to leave the country immediately, claiming that Russia may employ dual nationals for military service.
According to an alert posted on the embassy’s website, “Russia may refuse to accept US citizenship of dual nationals, deny them access to US consular assistance, deny Russia access to their can prevent departure and appoint dual civilians for military service.”
“US citizens should not travel to Russia and those living in or traveling to Russia should leave Russia immediately, while limited commercial travel options remain,” it said.
The advice came nearly a week after Russia announced a partial mobilization amid the conflict with Ukraine.
