Ralegan Siddhi,

Friday turns out to be a very dramatic day in Ralegan Siddhi, where Anna Hazare is  fasting for the  Jan LokPal  Bill. Today at Ralegan Siddhi  crowd witnessed some drama when a spat occurred between former Army chief General (Retd) V.K.Singh and Aam Adami Party (AAP) member Gopal Rai.

The spat occurred when General Singh, during his speech at the fast venue, said that Anna movement was meant to ensure the passage of Jan Lokpal Bill and the need was to stand together rather than forming different groups for personal gains.

This statement made Gopal Rai so upset, that the AAP leader who was also sitting on fast at Ralegan Siddhi  objected to the statement and interrupted the speech, following which Anna had to intervene and ask him to stop interrupting.

“Please don’t create commotion here. I had asked you not to stay back and fast here. You can leave if you are here to create trouble,” Anna said. Anna went on to ask Gopal Rai, who had travelled to the village with AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas and Sanjay Singh, to leave the village, after which the AAP leader left the venue.

Later, talking to mediapersons, Gopal Rai attacked General Singh saying “people who abandoned Anna and ran after Modi for a seat are teaching lessons to AAP”. Rai added that though he would leave the village as desired by Anna, but would continue to fast in his favour. Rai said that as Anna’s stage was only for non-political personalities, V K Singh shouldn’t have been allowed to share the Dias with Anna.

“He is clearly close to BJP and indulging into sycophancy to get a BJP ticket. He should not try to teach what AAP should do,” he told reporters.

AAP leader Kumar Vishwas was also present in the venue. While asked by the reporters about the absence of Arvind Kejriwal, Vishwas said, “Arvind Kejriwal is not well but he spoke to Anna who gave him his blessings. He also asked Arvind to take care of his health as he has to fight a big battle for the country. “Kejriwal also requested Anna to call off his fast but was told that a Parliamentary select committee has made some suggestions and he wanted to see in what form the Jan Lokpal Bill is presented in the Rajya Sabha,” Vishwas told reporters.

Viswas said AAP was confident of winning an absolute majority if re-elections are held for Delhi Assembly and, if that happened, the party would pass “Anna’s Jan Lokpal Bill”, have it notified in the gazette and present a copy of the law to Hazare at Ralegan Siddhi in the presence of all its MLAs.
