It has become a routine for Chhattisgarh State under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Dr.Raman Singh to bag National Awards for the last few years. The State has bagged two MNREGA National Awards. Inspite of serious Naxalite crisis in South Bastar (Dantewada) and Narayanpur, the successful implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA) has bagged the National Awards.
The Union Government will felicitate the State on 2 February, on the occasion of 10th anniversary of implementation of MNREGA. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi will honour the two districts on that day. The officers said here today Dantewada district bagged the award for organic farming and Sheersagar scheme. The Narayanpur district bagged the award for providing employment to 13 thousand 714 families and creating eight lakh 85 thousand mandays of employment during the fiscal 2013-14. Most of the beneficiaries were women.
Chief Minister Dr.Raman Singh and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr.Ajay Chandrakar expressed their happiness for both the districts bagging the National Award. They congratulated the administration of both the districts, panchayat representatives and officers-employees connected with MNREGA . The Chhattisgarh State is being felicitated for the second time in the same year. The state has bagged five MNREGA awards till now.
Meanwhile, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Chief Minister Mrs Anandibhen Patel gave away the National Award for E-Governance for ‘Geographical Information System’ to Chhattisgarh. The award was received by Principal Secretary of Information Technology Department Chhattisgarh Mr.Aman Kumar Singh. The award is a Central Government award.
