
Twitter banned more than 45 thousand Indian accounts , Microblogging platform Twitter has come to the fore to ban more than 45 thousand accounts within a month. While sharing its compliance report on Friday, the company has said that in July, the Twitter accounts of 45,191 Indian users have been banned.
These accounts have been banned for different reasons. Twitter has banned 42,825 accounts promoting child sexual abuse and sharing obscene or objectionable content. Apart from these, 2,366 accounts were banned because they were promoting terrorism.
Let us tell you, Twitter and other major social media platforms share their monthly compliance reports according to the new IT Rules, 2021. Twitter said that in a month between June 26 and July 25, it received 874 complaints from users across the country. However, only 70 of these complaints felt the need to act. PLC/GT
