Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Turkey and Europe’s best airline*, held a Ramadan Ghabkah in Kuwait City attended by leading tourism personalities and travel partners to celebrate the Holy Month, underlining the spirit of solidarity and camaraderie. Building on Turkey’s position as an inspiring destination for the Holy Month, guests gained insights into ‘Ramadan in Istanbul,’ a popular travel promotion highlighting the enriching experiences of the tourism capital of Turkey. The award winning carrier continues to witness incredible passenger growth from Kuwait, particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan, with 144 per cent increase recorded last year. The celebratory evening, held at Holiday Inn Hotel in Kuwait City, was attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuwait and leading travel agents and VIP customers who were welcomed to an evening of Turkish hospitality and entertainment by senior representatives from Turkish Airlines. Adem Ceylan, General Manager for Turkish Airlines in Kuwait, said: “We are delighted to mark the spirit of Ramadan with our colleagues, partners and friends in the community. Through this celebratory event and the special offers part of ‘Ramadan in Istanbul’ we look forward to welcoming travellers from Kuwait to our historic tourism capital.” For only KD59, inclusive of tax and service charge, visitors can experience the magical charm offered by Istanbul with a wide range of cultural activities, which are being held in Istanbul during Ramadan, especially for the Gulf visitors. This year frequencies from Kuwait were increased to 42 flights per week during the peak summer season. This builds on growth from the wider gulf region which in the first five months of this year was an average of 84 per cent higher compared to the same period in 2012.
