The G-20 Summit is just around the corner, and the capital city of India, New Delhi, is adorning itself like a radiant bride to welcome world leaders. With the conference date approaching rapidly, tireless efforts are underway to enhance the beauty of Delhi and its surrounding regions. The Public Works Department (PWD) of the Delhi government has taken charge, ensuring that crucial roadworks are completed by the August 31 deadline. In a directive issued by Shashank Ala, the Special Secretary of PWD, it’s revealed that equipment installation and dry runs are scheduled for September 4.
Embellishing Delhi’s Streets
In an attempt to make Delhi a breathtaking host for the G-20 conference, officials have been instructed to meticulously inspect the functionality of fountains, lights, pumps, motors, and maintain the cleanliness of roads and footpaths from September 1 to September 7.
Apart from planting saplings along the roadsides, the preparations for the G-20 conference also involve adorning the city with fountains, the G-20 logo, central verges, and an abundance of diverse, lush greenery. Works of art, including paintings and sculptures, along with vibrant lighting installations on walls, are all part of this grand transformation. The continuous endeavor is to ensure that the foreign dignitaries attending the G-20 conference are captivated by Delhi’s beauty, with no trace of litter marring any corner of the city.
