Top 10 Sensex companies: Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank became the biggest beneficiaries

Mumbai  : The market valuation of seven of the 10 most valuable Sensex companies increased by Rs 59,404.85 crore last week. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank benefited the most. Stock markets were closed on Thursday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. After record breaking rally last week, Sensex fell marginally by 3.32 points. The 30-share Sensex of BSE had closed at its all-time high of 75,038.15 points on Wednesday. On Tuesday, it had reached its all-time high of 75,124.28 points during trading. In the week under review, the market valuation of Bharti Airtel increased by Rs 19,029.37 crore to reach Rs 6,92,861.27 crore.

ICICI Bank added Rs 15,363.23 crore during the week, taking its market capitalization to Rs 7,75,447.63 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries rose by Rs 10,250.02 crore to Rs 19,85,797.70 crore and the valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) jumped by Rs 7,507.53 crore to Rs 14,47,343.55 crore. Reliance Industries remained at first position in the list of top 10 companies. This was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Infosys, LIC, ITC and Hindustan Unilever respectively.

ITC’s m-cap rose by Rs 2,809.06 crore to Rs 5,36,967.87 crore, while Infosys’ m-cap rose by Rs 2,303.73 crore to Rs 6,16,424.57 crore. The market valuation of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 2,141.91 crore to Rs 6,84,294.62 crore. Contrary to this trend, the market value of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 23,170.58 crore to Rs 11,53,894.76 crore. The valuation of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined by Rs 13,440.62 crore to Rs 6,14,252.15 crore. The market capitalization of Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 8,153.08 crore to Rs 5,24,663.73 crore.
