The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Mohali (Punjab) has sentenced Anil Kumar, then Territory Manager, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Lalru, District Mohali (Punjab) to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.20,000/-.

CBI had registered a case on 25.11.2011 under section 7 of PC Act, 1988 against Anil Kumar, on the basis of a complaint. The complainant who was running a petrol pump in Village Kheri Lakha Singh, District Yamuna Nagar had alleged in the complaint that the supply of petroleum products to his retail outlet (petrol pump) was stopped. The complainant requested for restoring the supply of petroleum products on which Anil Kumar, demanded a bribe of Rs. three lakh. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. three lakh from the Complainant. A charge sheet was filed on 31.07.2012 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala (Punjab).

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
