Three years rigorous imprisonment to then executive engineer of railway in a bribery case
INVC NEWS New Delhi, The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal has sentenced Shri S.B.Sharma, then Executive Engineer, Western Central Railway, Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh) to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.30,000/- in a bribery case. CBI had registered a case U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on 22.05.2010 on a complaint against Shri S.B.Sharma, Executive Engineer, Track Machine Depot, Western Central Railway, Bhopal alleging that the accused demanded a bribe amount @ 1% of the bills amounting to Rs.84 Lakh released to the complainant against the work of “Habibganj extension of shed in track machine depot” and also for unpaid & ensuing bills of the complainant. CBI laid a trap on 22.5.2010 and caught the accused while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant at his residence. After completion of investigation, a Charge-sheet was filed on 30.12.2010 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
