Rohtak,,
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today lambast former Haryana Chief Minister Mr.Chautala and his family saying that they were indulged in corrupt practices and CBI was investigating cases registered against them regarding amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income. Mr Hooda was interacting with media persons at Rohtak today. Terming Indian National Lok Dal and its leaders as anti development, Mr.Hooda said , “ those who digested the garlands of currency notes given by the people during their regime, could not digest holistic development being undertaken by the present state government”. Mr.Hooda asked Mr.Chautala to explain to the people of the state what decisions were taken by him for the welfare of farmers, laborers, traders, women and other sections of the society.
The politics of lies had tarnished the prestige of Chautala’s family. The present state government of Haryana had rendered Mr.Chautala and his sons without any issue of public interest by ensuring all round development of the state and implementing various welfare schemes for all sections of the society, he added.
Referring to Sirsa Bund, Mr.Hooda said that these people used to talk about country wide bund, thereafter, they started talking of state bund and now they have confined only to bund in Sirsa. The day was not far away when Chautala family would shut its own doors. Mr.Chautala must understand that shops could be shut down by intimidation, but the heart of the people could not be shut, added Mr Chautala.
The Chief Minister asked Mr.Om Parkash Chautala and his sons why they did not undertake development works in Sirsa during their regime. The present state government had already spent a sum of Rs.2486 crore on the development of Sirsa as against Rs.799 crore spent during the regime of Mr.Chautala. Chautala government established a university in the name of Ch.Devi Lal at Sirsa, but he did not ensure its development. There were only two or three rooms in Sirsa University when he (Mr.Hooda) assumed the charge as the Chief Minister of the State.
Mr.Hooda said that he did not believe in the politics of regionalism. The present state government had spent crores of ruppes on the all round development of the university. Many times more development was undertaken in the Devi Lal Vidhyapeeth, which is the private institution of Devi Lal family.
In reply to a question, Mr.Hooda said that he never bothered about what benefits he would get from the development works being taken by his government. He said that ensuring inclusive development of the state was the avowed mission of his government. The plan budget of the state, which is an indicator of development of any state, had now been increased to Rs.20,346 crore from Rs.2200 crore during the tenure of Mr.Chautala. One could well judge the pace of development from the massive increase in the Plan Budget of the state. Haryana today ranked first in terms of per capita investment, whereas it was at 14th place during the tenure of Mr.Chautala. Development being a constant process, he would continue it, added Mr Hooda.
