Ziyarat, a JSWM Production, regretfully could not be released in Jammu as per scheduled on 2nd December, 2011 despite the pre-booking, reservation, and the theatre advance payment which had concluded 20 days before the release date.

The whole process of conceiving, producing, and then finally exhibiting this film was disrupted when on the release date a different film was put up for screening in HARI theatre, Jammu. This last minute switch over caused tremendous loss of efforts and money. As also the audiences were denied the privilege to view a FILM that was specially made by, for and about the people of Jammu & KASHMIR. Ziyarat was a sincere effort to promote brotherhood, regional integration, local culture and national integration, a much needed Genre in present Kashmir.

The tiresome efforts of the Production house and all the support from so many other organizations went in vain because of greedy, unprofessional and unethical behavior of exhibiters. The inconvenience caused to various organizations, supporters of the movie and the Jammu & Kashmir audience is heartfelt and we sincerely apologize.

Despite this unfortunate incident JSWM Productions tried their best to compromise on a future date with Hari Theatre and screening possibilities in other UFO supported theatres but it seems the exhibiters and their booking agents have a bias against ZIYARAT due to the reasons that are beyond our understanding and therefore the film is compelled to leave this territory for the time being with a Heavy Heart…

The story of Ziyarat and similar other stories will remain untold so long as the exhibiters and distributers continue riding on monopoly embarking on personal gains rather than supporting the few people who, with their efforts wish to bring back our paradise on earth to its normal life.
