The Vice President briefed on the “Management of Protected areas and Conservation & Preservation of Biodiversity”
The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari was briefed on the “Management of Protected areas and Conservation & Preservation of Biodiversity” by the Conservator (Forests), J&K Shri M.A. Tak during his visit to the Dachigam National Park – Abode for Peerless Red Deer of the Globe “Hangul” in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir today. He showed keen interest in the various activities going on in the National Park. Besides this he was also briefed on the world famous high variety “Trout fish” and its treasure farm within the National Park on the occasion. The Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri N.N. Vohra and the Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah were also present.
The Dachigam National Park is not only one of the important Protected Area Network of the State of Jammu & Kashmir but its uniqueness of flora and fauna, its richness and diversity, its grandeur landscape and geomorphologic significance, its seasonal glory and snow clad mountains, its vast pastures and gushing waters and above all its proximity to a populated capital city makes it important “Biodiversity Area” of the nation and hot spot world over.
