Haryana Government has spent Rs. 300 crore for providing better computer education in over 2500 ten-plus-two schools so that students studying in Government schools may become computer savvy and fare better in the modern day competitive environment.

This was stated by Education Minister,  Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal while interacting with the media persons in Jhajjar today. She said that modernized computer labs had already been set up in most of the schools and these labs were well equipped so that the students did not have to encounter any problem. The work of repair and maintenance of these computers had also been handed over to the concerned companies for smooth functioning of the entire system.

Praising the efforts of the Chief Minister in this direction, she said that it was due to his progressive thinking that Government schools were being geared up to provide qualitative education so that students in the State were not deprived of the same due to lack of funds. She said that the present State government was striving to create a better academic environment in all the Government schools. Further, the rationalization of the teachers was also being done on the basis of  number of students so  that students could get proper attention.

Mrs. Bhukkal said that the unique initiative of starting additional classes of science streams during the summer camps being organized in the summer vacations in Government schools had borne fruitful results. She added that the Education Department would continue in its efforts to implement such qualitative improvements in the field of education. Besides this, Mid-Day Meal scheme too was being implemented in the Government schools with greater improvements. The State Government would soon launch a scheme for ensuring education for the children of nomadic tribes too.

She said that it was very encouraging that the Prime Minister had appreciated the efforts of the Haryana Government in the field of education, especially the provision of pre-matric scholarships, in the recently held two-day annual conference of the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministers at Delhi.

The Minister also informed that the Technical Education Department had released the examination schedule for those students of Polytechnics who had missed out on the same. These exams would be held from June 29 to July 4, she said.
