Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, has sanctioned a Special Grant of Rs. 20 crore to the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) for improvement and maintenance of roads and creation of basic infrastructural facilities to cater to the requirements of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industrial Area. Approval to the effect was granted by the Chief Minister very recently.

Chief Minister said that although improvement and maintenance of the national highways was a central subject but the State had to intervene keeping in view the requirements of the industrialists of the area of better road infrastructural facilities and for smooth plying of the loaded vehicles to and fro the industrial area. He said that the State Government had created a separate authority and named it as Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) with a view to carry focused development of the industrial areas located within its jurisdiction. He said that the Authority had already been provided with adequate budgetary allocations to meet the roads construction and other civic amenities infrastructural requirements in the area as also to maintain the same to the satisfaction of the people working and residing in the industrial area. He said that the Authority had been functioning effectively and carrying need based developmental activities in consultation with the representatives of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industries Association. He said that such an effort was resulting into planned development of the industrial area not only to benefit the industrialists but the residents as well with quality basic amenities.
Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government had also requested the Governments of neighbouring States of Punjab and Haryana to improve and maintain roads falling within their jurisdiction leading towards the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industrial Area which happened to be the entry and exit points to the heavy vehicular traffic of the industrial area. He said that with the construction of expressway connecting the industrial area with Mohali international airport in the near future the road connectivity would get improved. He directed the BBNDA to carry improvement and maintenance of roads etc. within its jurisdiction with the special grant sanctioned on war footing so that the industrialists in the area were not put to any inconveniences. He reiterated the resolve of the State Government to provide all possible help to the industrialists in the State for their various industrial activities.
Shri Sachit Jain and Shri Rajender Guleria, present and past Presidents of Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industrialists Association, respectively, thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning special grant of Rs. 20 crore for roads and other infrastructural facilities in the area which would go a long way in facilitating the entrepreneurs to carry forward with their various industrial activities, especially relating to transportation of their raw material and finished products to and fro the industrial areas.
