The State Government committed to realize the dream of Shri Atal Bhari Vajpayee : Prem Kumar Dhumal

No private University would be permitted to affiliate any college with it. This was stated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister while addressing the Silver Jubilee Celebration function of DAV School at Mandi today.
Chief Minister said that Himachal was fast emerging a centre of par excellence learning where quality education was being made available in the most peaceful and congenial atmosphere. He said that the State Government was committed to realize the dream of Shri Atal Bhari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister who had envisioned Himachal as a hub of knowledge in the country. He said that the State Government was motivating competent private players to setup centre of far excellence learning especially in the vocational education sector, which had been a grand success and best education facilities were being made available to the students of State.
Prof. Dhumal said that NIFT had come up at Chheb village of Kangra District and IIT at Mandi which were of National Level vocational education centre. He made it clear that no Government land had been given to any private university in the State and all such universities had come up on their own. He said that the State had ordered a judicial inquiry into the illegal land deals by a sitting Judge of the High Court, so that truth could come up before the people. He criticized the people who were opposing the decision.
Chief Minister assured DAV management of all possible help from the State to make their institution function properly and further strengthen the DAV movement in the State. He said that DAV teachings were more relevant in the present day context which needed to be expanded to other areas.
Prof. Dhumal said that the moral values of the Indian system were very much relevant in the present day context when the social values were eroding speedily. He congratulated DAV for providing its students best of education and equip them with best of the skills which could be of immense use to them in their future endeavours.

Chief Minister said that 21st century belonged to India, as had been said by former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee who himself had been a DAV product. He said that world would realize the supremacy of India in all spheres in 21st century.
Prof. Dhumal said DAV educational institutions had been contributing significantly towards value based education. He said that worlds best ancient scripts Ved and Puran were also written in the holy land of India centuries ago. He said that many such vested interests had attempted to tarnish the rich cultural heritage of the country. He said that DAV had also contributed towards giving
momentum to freedom movement, greatly motivated by philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati .
Chief Minister honoured two social workers from Kullu, Thakur Dhani Ram and Shri Devi Chand for their contribution towards DAV institutions. He also presented awards to honour various alumni of the school.
Chief Minister released Coffee Table Book, My Resolution, School Calender and School Magazine ” The Rising” and the Vision Document of the School to mark the Silver Jubilee Celebration function on the occasion. He also unveiled the foundation stone of the proposed school building.
