Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Hindi is the friend of all Indian languages and it as an official language “binds the whole country in the thread of unity”. Shah tweeted that the government led by Prime Minister Modi is committed to the simultaneous development of all local languages, including Hindi. Shah tweeted in Hindi and said that ‘Official language Hindi is the thread of unity of the nation. Hindi is the friend of all Indian languages. I salute the great personalities who have contributed in the preservation and promotion of Hindi. Happy ‘Hindi Divas’ to all. It is worth noting that Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on 14th September.
The day is dedicated to the Hindi language after it was declared as the official language of the Union of India. The Constituent Assembly of India declared Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Union of India on September 14, 1949.
