Haryana Chief Minister,  Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that the people of Haryana are very enthusiastic about the UPA rally, which is to be held in New Delhi on November 4. The rally will be unprecedented and historic as lakhs of people will be coming from Haryana alone.

Mr Hooda was addressing a meeting of Haryana Ministers, Members of Parliament(MP), MLAs, Ex-Ministers, Ex-MPs and Ex-MLAs, in New Delhi today, which was called to review the preparations for the rally. Haryana Congress President Mr Phool Chand Mullana presided over the meeting. AICC Secretary and incharge of Haryana Congress unit Mr Tara Chand Bhagora was also present.

Mr Hooda said that the people very well understand that some elements are playing politics of character assassination to weaken and defame the Congress party. But the fact is, that the people are very much with the Congress despite all the propaganda, because they know that the Congress is the only party, which can keep the country united. The people know that if Congress becomes weak, the country will become weak, he added.

Mr Hooda said that the people of the country want stability and development, because instability not only hampers the development but also increases unemployment. He said that the Congress party has a long history of sacrifices and renunciation and the party has strong leadership in the present and for the future also, whereas the other parties lack leadership.

Giving the example of Haryana, Mr Hooda said that all the last four general elections held in Haryana have been won by Congress party including two assembly and two Lok Sabha elections. After the formation of Congress Government in Haryana in 2005, ten bye-elections have been held for various seats of State Assembly and Lok Sabha. Except one home seat of Ellenabad, the principal opposition party in Haryana, the INLD lost all other nine by-elections. The Congress party wrested even the Ratia assembly seat from INLD, which the Congress party had not won in last 30 years.

Referring to the Delhi University Students Union elections, Mr Hooda said that all the four seats were won by NSUI, which is students wing of Congress Party. This election  is considered as the indicator of national mood of the youth of the country. Out of total 80,000 students, as many as 20,000 students from Haryana study in DU. On the other hand, INLD’s students wing INSO candidate could get 303 votes only, he added.
