“The Next Quality Experience” by UIV (The Italian association of Wine producers) in association with VERONAFIERE – LEMS hosted lunch as a part of two days wine conference at Hotel Leela Palace , Chanakya Puri for the connoisseurs of Italian wine along with delegates and socialites who have contributed to the development and expansion of exquisite wine drinking culture.
Chef Glenn B. Eastman has prepared an extensive lunch with European quality wines and extra virgin oil meeting Indian recipes. UIV (The Italian association of Wine producers) have organised the whole affair where the menu was prepared by the Master chef coupled with tastings and an engaging educational workshop.
The lunch was attended by Kanchan Kapoor, Ramola Bachchan, Vandy Mehra, Ala Madhu, Kimmi Tej, Preeti Ghai and many more.
An exclusive, two day event dotted with interactive sessions, lecture demonstrations and an intense round discussion by industry stalwarts, the seminar aims at increasing awareness of Italian wines in India, considered the most promising, emerging markets for quality wi nes worldwide along with China and Russia. Growth estimates for wines in the Indian market foresee a 25% growth every year and in 2010 sales reached approximately 9 million liters. Renowned Indian nutritionist Ishi Khosla will deliver a talk on wine and olive oil being ingredients for a healthy life-style.
The activities carried out over the last three years allowed to increase awareness of not only the tasting characteristics of Italian wines, through sensory analysis courses, but also to introduce to a strategic audience the areas, production standards and PDO mark (Protected Designation of Origin).
Furthermore, this three-year period proved the excellent opportunity to highlight the great adaptability of the Italian wines to the most important world cuisines. For this reason, numerous tastings were held in combination with the main dishes of the extraordinary Indian cuisine.
