The Government was endeavouring to create quality infrastructure : Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal

INVC,, Shimla,, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, today dedicated the newly developed Van Vihar Vatika adjacent to the world famous shrine of Baba Balak Nath, developed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh for the devotees visiting the shrine. He also planted ‘Rudraksha’ sapling on the occasion. Chief Minister while addressing the gathering said that the Government was endeavouring to create quality infrastructure to cater to the requirements of the visitors especially the devotees visiting shrines in different parts of the state. He hoped that the new campus developed area the temple would also facilitate the devotees. He lauded the efforts of Forest Department for undertaking eco-friendly activities in the district. Prof. Dhumal said that parking was also being developed between Shah Talai and Temple area at Deoth Sidh. He said that way-side amenities were also being improved. He appealed to the people to protect such parks so that these could look beautiful for all the time to come. He cautioned the people not to use plastic and bring the same to the state since they could be fined for the offence. He also appealed to the people not to use plastic bottles, carry bags, disposable plates and glasses since these cause damage to the environment and urged the people to educate visitors coming from outside. Chief Minister also directed the departmental authorities to properly maintain the park and ensure that the people visiting park did not litter the place as well. He said that high mast light would also be installed in the park on priority. He lauded the contribution of the forest department in preservation of the ecology of the district. He said that the government had lifted ban on felling of bamboo on private land and appealed to stake holders to plant more trees etc. to increase the green cover. Chief Minister also honoured the people who had contributed significantly towards the development of the park. Shri Sanjay Sood, Conservator of Forests, welcomed the Chief Minister and said that eco-friendly activities were being undertaken by the department by developing Nav Grah Vatika etc,. in different parts of the district. Shri R.R.Kaundal, Deputy Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha, Shri Baldev Sharma, MLA, Shri Pyare Lal Sharma, Chairman, APMC, Smt. Sarla Sharma, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Shri M.C. Parmar, CMD, Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation and other prominent people of the area were present.
