The government gave a festive gift to the central employees

Giving a big relief to government employees and pensioners, the Union Cabinet has approved an increase of 4 percent in Dearness Allowance. DA has increased to 38 percent after 4 percent increase in dearness allowance of 50 lakh central government employees and about 62 lakh pensioners.

Let us tell you that earlier in March, the Union Cabinet had approved a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance under the Seventh Pay Commission. Then the DA was increased to 34 per cent. Central government employees and pensioners across the country were waiting for revision of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief on the basis of 7th Pay Commission.

For the past several years, the government has been announcing this around Navratri. By increasing the dearness allowance of the government, 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners of the country will benefit as their salary and pension will increase. At the beginning of the year, the government had increased the DA by 3 percent, after which the dearness allowance had gone up to 34 percent. Now due to increase in DA by 4 per cent, dearness allowance will increase to 38 per cent. PLC/GT
