To mark the beginning of Vigilance Awareness Week, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Chairman Dharmendra administered the integrity pledge to the Heads of all the departments in NDMC to fight against corruption and bring transparency in their working at NDMC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi this morning.
NDMC is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 to emphasize the importance of integrity in government working and public life as a public servant. This year the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week is “Satark Bharat , Smriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India)”.
On the eve of Vigilance Awareness Week, NDMC organized a webinar on experience sharing on the best practices and innovation by Urban Bodies of Delhi. The webinar was addressed by Central Vigilance Commissioner, Shri Sanjay Kothari yesterday.
The webinar was attended by the Heads and Senior Officers of all urban civic bodies of Delhi like North MCD, East MCD, South MCD, DDA, Delhi Cantt., Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development), Delhi Government and shared their experiences on the best practice and innovation to increase the transparency in its organization working.
Today, NDMC also organized a webinar by prominent former senior diplomat, quiz master and motivational speaker, Dr.Deepak Vohara for senior officers and employees of NDMC. While Dr.Vohara delivered an excellent presentation on the theme of “Ethics in Public Life”, he said that the entire society is being affected by corruption and breach of integrity at many levels. Emphasizing that trust and integrity are inborn moral convictions of human beings and we should nurture it in our daily life, if we want to live in a corruption free society.
On the occasion, the Chief Technical Examiner of Central Vigilance Commission, Shri Shailendra Singh also interacts in another webinar with the employees and officers of NDMC on the technical issues of transparent tendering process and their specifications. He stressed upon the importance of self explanatory provision of the tender to avoid the delay in execution of work.
During the Vigilance Awareness Week, NDMC is organizing various activities to create awareness about increasing transparency in the Government working and fight against corruption through Informative, Educative and Communicative (IEC) activities like conduct of various competitions such as debates, quiz etc. for employees and school students.
To create awareness amongst the public, NDMC has displayed the messages of the President of India, Vice President of India, Prime Minister of India, Central Vigilance Commission, Chairman-NDMC and CVO-NDMC at various digital boards and panels located in prominent public places in New Delhi area on the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week.
On the occasion, Secretary-NDMC, Shri Amit Singla, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, Financial Advisor – Shri Pushkal Upadhyay, Chief Auditor – Shri Khalid Bin Jamal and Senior Officers & employees of NDMC were present.
