The colors in our Tricolour have special significance

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today unveiled the newly established and beautified form of National Flag in the premises of Main Secretariat, Sector-1, here. After hoisting the highest flag of Tri-city, the band of Haryana Police played the National Anthem.

          While interacting with media persons after hoisting the flag, the Chief Minister said that the National Flag of any country is a symbol of honour and dignity of that country and it also shows the country's independence and self respect. This is the reason, citizens of any country highly respects their national flag. Similarly, the feelings of 125 crore people of India are connected to our National Flag 'Tricolour’, he added.

          He said that the colors in our Tricolour also have special significance. The saffron at the top symbolizes sacrifice, this colour shows courage and selfless feelings towards the nation. It is also considered as a symbol of unity. The white colour in the middle of the flag is considered a symbol of peace and honesty. It also represents cleanliness and knowledge. Green colour on the bottom half of the flag represents faith, fertility, prosperity and progress.

          He said that the newly established and beautified form of National Flag of 80 feet high and 24 feet x 16 feet in size, is of special significance in both the civil secretariats of Haryana and Punjab. This flag which is symbol of national pride, would be changed in every six months so that its beauty remains.

          Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar, Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Dr. Banwari Lal, Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, Haryana Director General of Police, Mr Manoj Yadav and several senior officers and employees were also present on the occasion.
